Default August 12th 2000 marks the lost of K-141 submarine Kursk

I’d like to note that August 12, 2021 marks the 21st Anniversary of the horrific accident aboard the Russian Oscar II SSGN Submarine K-141 Kursk. Those that were killed instantly from the initial HTP Propellant explosion from a test Torpedo, and the secondary explosions of between 5-7 Warshot Torpedoes were lucky; the 23 survivors that managed to make it aft to the rear compartment suffered more from the explosion of an O2 Canister accidentally dropped into oily, waist-high seawater, causing major injuries and suffocation from the loss of their remaining O2 from the flash fire that resulted.

Adversaries or not, the Russian crew lost are still Submariners on Eternal Patrol, and deserve the Honor, Respect, and Remembrance that any Submarine Brothers should receive.
