H,

NEW VERSION: v1.7.3

Added:
- Std. table

Changed:
- Parallax correction calculating algorithm (now TDC-model simulates also equivalent point of fire, so parallax correction angle now matches the real one)
- Lighting mode syncronized also with current U-Boat depth now (while submerged, TDC will be in dark mode, nevertheless of the current day time)

Fixed:
- Mod interface hierarchy relative to the game UI (fixes periscope lock/unlock UI overlapping bug)

Cheers Ruby

@black1
we're working on it....

I’m noticing the TDC is not taking own course changes into account when Lage Laufend is switched on. Will this be changed in the future?

Hi derstosstrupp,

it is already taken into account. If you want your own course changes to be taken into account, click with LMC on the dial "own course".

Cheers Ruby

I’m sorry I’m still not quite sure I understand. So once Lage laufend was switched on, I could then change course at will and the AOB setting would not change assuming I kept the wire on the target. With this mod, as I’m changing course, my AOB is not taking my course changes into account. Let’s take an example. Let’s say the target bearing is 270. Let’s say it’s bow right 90. I put the wire on the target, I set bow right 90, set follow, set Lage laufend. Now let’s say I then turn 90° to port to put my bow on the target. What the real device would do is take my course change into account such that when I arrived at the new course, and put the wire back on the target it would still show about 90 right. When I just tried it in game, after that turn the AOB was 180°, it turned AOB while I was turning, which is not correct.

I’m not sure what own course dial you mean, there doesn’t appear to be any such dial.

I really hope it’s just something I’m overlooking. Because this was a crucial feature of the German TDC and why it was so effective.

HI derstosstrupp,

this is an extract from our TDC-manual, which will be published soon.

------------------------
In the second scenario we follow the target ship on a parallel course. ‘We plan to attack the target from a specific direction. We have chosen a parallel attack with the target bearing 270 degrees.
There comes a moment when we are 100% sure that the AOB of the target ship is 90 degrees. We enter these values into the TDC and click with LMC on the own course to set the initial (current) U-boat course.
Then activate "Follow AOB" and deactivate "Follow target bearing" in the TDC. The bearing is set to 270 degrees.
Due to certain conditions, e.g. water currents, manoeuvring, etc. the boat changes course twice again e.g. 15 degrees to the right.
However, we do not change our opinion about the 270-degree bearing attack! ‘
To avoid having to update the AOB, which we are no longer sure about.

Since the boat was manoeuvred and changed course, we use the scale "own course ". Whenever the boat changes course, the TDC automatically adds the value of the course angle (= course change) of the AOB to the target ship.
And even if the course was changed several times in relation to the target ship, we still have the correct value of the AOB.
We wait for the target ship to reach a bearing of 270 degrees and fire!

In German this dial is called "Skala Kurswinkel" (eigener Kurs)

To activate the dial you have to click on it with LMC. After that the course deviations are taken into account by the AOB.

The U-boat turns to the right, AOB + course change
The U-boat turns to the left, AOB – course change

Cheers Ruby

I made a video that’s hopefully helpful as people learn this mod. I also try to provide some historical context and technical aspects as well.

Hi derstosstrupp,

I read your posts about the TDC-video.

Thanks! You’re exactly right, I’m going to make a series showing different techniques without using the map or the in-game Tools.
That would be a great thing! Thank´s a lot!

Hi derstosstrupp,

amazing !!! It is great to see how the TDC-Mod works.

Thank you!

I was hoping you'd notice the red light... ;-)
I know how hard it is to think of everything during a video without cutting.

Great Video! I will also link it in our Workshop.

Cheers Ruby
