Default Kriegsmarine’s secret pirate fleet anyone?

So, I’m a lurker. I’ve never posted before, so excuse me if I post incorrectly or breach etiquette.

As much as I love Kriegsmarine history and U-Boats, there is a facet of German WWII naval history that intrigues me more. Now I’ve sunk more hours of my life into SH III than I care to share. Actually, that goes for all of the Silent Hunter franchise. But the history behind the Kriegsmarine Auxiliary Cruisers has always fascinated me. Pinguin, Kormoran, Thor, Michael, Widder et al. It’s been that way since my dad gave me a book titled “Cruise with Raider HK-33” when I was a kid. Since then I’ve collected every book written about the subject that I can find.

I can’t help but wonder what an epic naval sim it could make if the Devs from SH III ran with the idea....
