That's pretty cool!

There are several other things on that list I find interesting, and all for pretty good prices.

A Type IX is way overdue and most welcome.

Must admit to smiling when I read the translation "The"type IX C"submarine appears in the version of"U-505""Tower III"." This boat was the only German submarine, launched from American ships in the second world war. "It is today, painstakingly restored, in a Chicago Museum."

Yes

But the german text is OK. I have and can recommend these books about U-505:

(Of course, there are many other books about the U-Boat Type IX, but these books are exclusively about U-505.)

- U-505 The final journey, J. Wise (Naval Insitute Press)

- Die Jagd auf U-505 (english: Hunt and Kill), Theodor Savas

- Steel Boat Iron Hearts, H. Goebeler, J. Vanzo

+ the great DVD - Attack and Capture: The Story of U-Boat 505.

But I'll definitely build my lovely U-515, not the ill-fated and unfortunate U-505.

Big yes, but not a monster. That would be IXD2. Revell´s GATO 1/72 is bigger.

You didn't know? It's been out for years. Dan (Elanaiba), lead designer for SH4 and SH5, bought one for Neal at the end of the 2008 Subsim meeting in Houston.

I think it's reasonably safe to say that there will be plenty of detail sets for any new kit of this nature. It's just a matter of when.

Oh, and WELCOME ABOARD!

Hecker & Goros Submarine Crews in the Indian Ocean for U-boat Type IX for Revell sets I and II
