TMO/RSRD, but this is a single mission I did. You can find bergs and Dolphins in TMO. Dolphins can be picked up on sonar, thus you can hear their chatter talk easily, sounds like a bad tuned static radio station. With TMO they'e outside the entries to Brisbane. The others are just random in the ocean. The Bergs are more WSW of Attu.

Seriously? I never thought to test that. Honestly im surprised anyone's found the dolphins in TMO at all. It's really blind/dumb luck to run into them i think.

Ya know Duc, it was sort of cruel. About 6 months ago I started getting a funny sound coming through my speakers. Sounded like radio static or a whimpering baby. I thought maybe some AM radio traffic was coming through...My wife and I kept playing with it, but it finally went away. Just at this time I had sonar focused on and never occured to me it was the game cuz it never made that noise. This time I figured it was the dolphins.
Doe's make them easy to find if your in the area, lol. They pick up as far as...bout 12nms.

Only picked them up on sonar a few times and could see something in the water from the bridge when close(external cam was off), never radar.

Idea to toy with, dolphins/whales in the traffic lanes and somewhat common...perhaps could cause escorts to attack them instead of you?

Well a sub once hit a whale and about ruined the sub and killed the whale. I've seen whales on ships and in SS, but not in the game files, maybe it's a ATO thing. I haven't tried joining dolphins to my sub, doubt you can, but would be funny attaching about 20 and see what happens when they get depth charged.

Convoy attack early morning July 6, 1944 in Mindoro Strait.

Sometimes it's good to be tiny...

One who just made it...

Clueless...

Broke off attack and continued north to patrol area.
11800 tons for six torps. One missed...

James B. Hunt, USS Silversides.

Only 2 minutes from contact report to firing the torps!
I recommend disciplinary against:
  1. The bridge watch because they are blind
  2. The sonar man because he is deaf
  3. The cook because he is not moving the coffee around fast enough!
Actually a very good day in the office !!!

That was the best first patrol I've ever had in SH4. I wonder why the task force commander reveresed course after an hour and not ordering the remaning DDs to the front of the task force? Still you couldn't ask for a better attack setup by having two Kumas at the front of the task force!

"Torpedo missed, Sir!".
6 (six, sic!) friggin' times he just had to say it. Loud...

Outraged and out of ammo he turned eastward.
Lockwood asked him on arrival at Pearl, "What you want here?" and then he slowly realised home base was Fremantle... Just bloody excellent!

Hey guys check this out. Don't know if this has already been posted but I saw a post where someone torpedoed a Japanese midget submarine and it spun into the air, spinning round and round very fast.

This guy did the same thing but there's an interesting twist in the tail.

Talk about freekin luck, last night I decided to shelve the PTO campaign I've been running in U.S.S.Thresher and install OM, as luck would have on starting a new campaign I chose 7th Flotilla, and was assigned U-47.

The night began assigned a patrol area west of England so I headed out of Kiel the long way around GB- to the north and around thru the gap where I camped out for 96 hours searching for anything to shoot at. Nothing appeared so I reported in after my assignment time expired only to get assigned a similar mission 200 miles to the east, and as before nothing appeared. The next time I reported in I was assigned an area south of the English channel where again, nothing appeared so I decided the night was over and headed back to base via the channel.

A contact report came from my radio officer directing me about 100 miles NE, with a contact heading west out of the channel so I proceeded due north to intercept. The High waves and darkness concealed my approach as I motored up to her on the surface within a 1000 yards and fired a G7e that found it mark amid ships and blew the freighter in half. I turned east to continue my journey only to find a trailing freighter about 20 miles behind the first, and as before she didn't try to run as I steamed to 900 yards and broadsided her with another electric torpedo.

This went on for another 4 hours, a ship sunk about every 100 miles as we navigated the channel, then broke for norway once we were clear. A large tanker flying a british flag in the 'pond' between sweden and england gave my rear torpedo crew some needed practice, and 3 more swedish transports went to the bottom before we reached Kiel. The last one was sunk with the deck gun as we ran out of torpedoes, but the American trucks on her deck made excellent targets.

My crew and I arrived in Kiel 6 real hours after the night began, and was rewarded with a Knights cross of the Iron cross from the Fuehrer.
