At one point I was going to take a job with them it would have been overseas though and I had already spent the better part of a decade in Germany with a few deployments to exotic and advantageous locations.

I do have friends that do rig work for them though.

Just never bought into conspiracy theories myself not my thing really. Not to say that things are rosy perfect in this world but it is what it is.

The whole "perto dollar" thing gets on my nerves like control of resources is something new or even a trait unique to humans no way to change it.

Someone always is in control and someone will always want to be in control.

Not a thing to me I'll do what I must to survive you can count on that in a modern world the illusion is that you are safe but you are only 10 seconds away from the 18th century and a few days away from fighting to the death for just the basic necessities.

I think Iran is very wrong in what they are doing overseas and in the Atlantic. But if they do want to rattle their sabers, what better country to rattle them at than the U.S. of A? If they want to pick a fight, I am pretty quite sure the US will give them one.

I was very close to being talked into going to work on the Ocean Ranger back in the day by one of my buds at Halliburton. I am sure glad I stuck to my guns and said 'no'.

Personally I think the whole Iran,Israel,USA thing is all saber rattling to satisfy certain folks in each nation.Iran relies very heavily on the oil that it sells to Europe and Japan if they loose that income their economy pretty much crumbles. So they gain nothing by causing too much trouble.I think the whole bomb thing is just a way to have some clout that gives them bargaining power they know that Israel would never allow it to be completed.

It is all saber rattling.

The USA has the military industrial complex they do not need a war just the idea of one is enough to sell.

Thing is Iran can cause trouble they have in the past just look up Operation Earnest Will,Operation Praying Mantis and Operation Prime Chance.

Iran can do nothing to really challenge the US military but they can effect the flow of traffic in the Persian Gulf.what do you think happens when Western Europe and Japan suddenly loose a sizable portion of their fuel supply?

To underestimate any opponent is unwise that does not mean sit in fear or over react.

Sometimes the scrawny guy will bust your teeth out.

Come on guys, the American navy and the military as such need some live practice and what couldn't be more perfect than some Iranian vessel.

The real problem with dealing with any Iranian "agression" is the US will likely be villified by the world community as "bullies". It's much like having a chihuahua clamp onto your ankle: it's not leathal, but it is annoying and iff you kick it away, PETA will jump all over you. Doesn't matter if the little monster deserved the boot, it's just the perception you've "unfairly" dealt with the nuisance...
