Gee, thanks Fred,

It would be great if you could make this extension. I think many fans would use it.
Actually, is it possible to make custom stations for the Atlantic area from 1939 til the end of the war? I thought it is...

And could you post some links for old time german radio broadcast archives?
I couldn't find any usable material...

Sure it is. But since I'm not interested in the Atlantic campaign, someone else would have to do it. I would be willing to do add-ons to expand the stations I've already created so they could be used in a full war Atlantic campaign, but not create any new ones. I do want to say it's likely I will do the add-ons eventually, because they would fit in with another radio station project I want to do. But that is down the road.

Have you tried Archive.org? Beyond that, I can't help you.

Can't help you with the German languge broadcasts, but at least you can listen to the BBC. I just posted a BBC Radio Mod that covers 1939 to 1945. Read about it here:

Downloaded all files for AFN, one showed to be corrupted, but indeed can't download anymore. LINKS ARE REALLY BROKEN. plse restore the links.

edit: tried to PM fred8615, but no reply yet. That is a pitty, because is Radio Mods are really great. I enjoy them particularly during transfer. To my surprise I found out that not that many people use his mods. Possibly due to the huge downloads. Hope one day the files are available for download again. In the meantime, happy hunting with our without (extra) radio-stations.

Fred, you should join Silent Hunter Mods Forum and ask for an FTP account, so you can store your radio mods there.
SHMF will not frequently delete this or that mod because of size or infrequently downloads.

Just click my sig to go there...

FYI, these versions do each have a few more songs than the previous versions did.
Between how much room these mods use and how popular they are, you should invest in stock for hard drive manufacturing companies . :rotfl:

I really enjoy these mods- glad they're back up!

Hi,

Awhile ago I downloaded KPO radio stations. There's now folder KPO and Washington in sound folder. There's an radio.ini file in sound folder with following info in it: (continued after info)

[GENERAL]
RadioRealism=Yes
StartCh=1

[CHANNEL]
Name=Washington
Folder=Washington
Freq=22
Antenna=01.01.1930-01.01.2000:44.16,-35.10:100000
;MusicVolumeOnNews takes values from 0.01 to 1
MusicVolumeOnNews=0.4

[CHANNEL]

MusicVolumeOnNews=0.01

The radio files are all in the sh4/data/sound/KPO and ../sound/Washington folders.
No matter how far I run the freq on the radio in game I all I ever here is static.

Could someone please tell me how to fix this. These are big downloads and I'd hate to just delete them cause they don't work. I must have something wrong. Thanks

If you're using the latest versions, downloaded from BtS Mods, you extract directly into the Data/Sound/Radio folder of your SH4 install. This is all covered in the readme btw, which you have to read to get the info to paste into the radio.ini file in order to hear the station.

First of all, they should be in the Radio folder, not Sound. But I'm going to assume that's a misprint. On the other hand there is a default music file in Washington you should be hearing if you didn't delete it. :hmm:

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with your radio.ini, so my second guess is you didn't put any music in the folders. If there's no music, you won't hear anything but static until a scripted program is set to play. Note that for the KPO station, the music has to go in the year folders inside KPO, not in the KPO folder itself. For Washington, they just go in that folder.

Is there a known limit to event.ini size?

Fred,
I am working on creating a "personal" radio station with timed events using my entire archive collection. I'm not trying to re-create a particular radio station.
Have you discovered any limitations to how many events can be in the event.ini file?
By the time I get done, there may be thousands. Just wondering.

BTW, thank you for your dedication to reproducing the WW2 era in radio programs. I enjoy your work immensely and I am inspired by it to produce my own work.
