Default holding my breath

so with the some information from rockin robbin, I'm going to reinstall my steam copy of sh4 1.3v into a file that will allow me to run that nifty little 1.4 update making my gaming experience with sh4 a whole lot better. I'm waiting on modding until I'm sure this works, I know I have to download something else to actually run mods, which I'm still having a problem remember the string of letters its called lol, and mind you this is all over a hotspot, wish me luck fellas.

so far its 3.2gb out of 3.6 so I'm nearly there, in your message you had said, When you're done installing you'll find that your desktop shortcut points to gu.exe. Change it to point to SH4.exe, what do you mean by that?

The download from Steam, are you sure that it's v1.3? It might be v1.4 - to check that, go to the folder you installed it in, and right-click on the SH4.exe file, choose Properties with a left-click, then left-click on Details. About the middle of that little window should be the version number. If it is indeed "v1,3,0,0" (yes, they use commas), then click on the General tab, and toward the bottom of the window is the Attributes section. Make sure the "Read only" tick box is empty, no check mark in it, so that the update can write to it.

Have you "licensed" the v1.3 with Ubisoft yet? Does it run OK, other than all the strangeness of the v1.3, of which there really isn't a lot to like of?...

I didint know I had to license it with ubisoft, and besides that yeah it runs fine at its current state, apart from game bugs and such.

You've got the Steam version of "Silent Hunter: Wolves of the Pacific", correct? Did you use Steam to manage your install to a different directory?

There is a tutorial on-site here about managing the Steam install...

Yeah, I thought I could find it real quick, and that is not the case. I'm stuck with the use of just this little tablet for now, and not a real computer, and I've manged to crash it several times. I'm almost 99% sure it's linked to off of either one of TheBerbster's pages, or Rockin Robbins...
