janus error on SH2

I recently installed my old copy of SH2. The CD version works ok but I encounter problems after I install the 1.1 patch (with no other mods!). The game starts and I get throuch the menu selectons ok, but the game then hangs as soon as a mission tries to start. I get the following error report in a pop-up :

Error -1 [Bad UZO initialization]
DirectX code: "Unrecognized error: 0xffffffff"

Any help would be great. Im running XP and have no problem running the pre-patch version.:hmm:

Even though you say you have no mods and only the 1.1 patch, my guess is that this is related to the 1024 res kit. If you had it installed long ago, it might be that the registry entries are still there and the game is trying to run in 1024. Ensure that in the options menu you choose 800x600 and report back :hmm:
