I want to get into ship modeling sometime....I just don't have time now...

Cause it's baseball season....

Maybe this summer, I'll invest in a model of a Balao or Gato....or maybe a Type VII or IX....

Idk. A Typhoon Class sounds fitting....with a Los Angeles Class on the same shelf....

So, I spent the weekend hanging out with a bunch of Canadian Sailors. I brought my Corvette book to talk corvettes with them. One of the sailors had a personal tie to this ship:

I did some 1/2400 Flowers for wargaming a long time ago. I noticed at the time that a few rare ones had the mast in front of the bridge rather than behind. Looking at pictures now I see that Morden was one of those.

Do it up right and make those Canuckians proud.

I was >< that close to buying the Revell USS North Carolina the other day.

I held back though. I want to start with something easier.

Talking to McBee on Skype last night made me pull out my little wargaming Flowers and take pictures. I didn't technically "build" them because they come as one piece, and only need to be painted. GHQ makes the most detailed, beautiful models possible. The bigger ships have many parts to glue on, but the destroyers are single-piece models. I have many painted and mounted, and a lot more just sitting in their packages waiting for "someday" to come.

Anyway, these are GHQ's 'Flower' class corvettes. They're nothing compared to the detail available when constructing a 1/72 scale kit, but they're cute in their own way.

I'm making serious progress on my boat. I need to post the pictures I've taken, plus take new ones, but I can't find my camera atm

I've got my brass prop

installed, custom made brass rudder installed, motor installed (English made motor

), Some of the wood/balsa deck installed,

In regards to the name of the boat, I'm still thinking of the Morden, but she has 2 masts

(one forward of the bridge) and her 4inch gun doesn't have the gun shield.
