How/Are Prize Rules/Cruiser Rules implemented in TWOS?

Hi all new player here.


I just installed The wolves of steel and started the campaign from the beginning having a great time and I received the following message on the radio. My question is, is this just a 'flavour' message or does the mod enforce these restrictions? I'm also not sure whether these rules apply to Polish ships because I thought my first mission was to sink them.


"Uboat warfare against shipping is at present to be carried out in accordance with international rules...


Attacks are to be aimed at ships ... which are... 1. troopships ... 2. vessels escorted by the enemy ... 3. vessels taking part in enemy actions or acting in direct support of the enemy ..."
