I'm a bit late in posting this but thanks for the update. I just wonder if anything will be done with Career Development. I hope to see my Pilot in uniform and someday with more then just the basic 5 Medals. Ribbons would be nice again. I have not seen them since MicroProse's B-17 TME.

Better yet, I'd like to see even more detail. Old games had barracks, radios you could listen to etc. etc. I'd like to see that in BoB too.

Yeah, I remember the Wing Commander series. although it was Sci-Fi, it did have a Bunk area where you could save files, Look at your records and your Uniform with all its decorations, Load old files and create new pilots.

I think a Barracks that could have all that would be great to. I think F-15 Tomcat did all that too and I believe they showed your Nickname on the Lockers. I never could get that Sim to work on my PC at the time so I don't know how it was. it always crashed to desktop when I tried to go to my Aircraft.

Something similar was present in European Air War, a game that IL2 has copied ALOT from.

I think EAW also had a virtual museum you could walk through as well. That was fun.

Have anyone read anything about this? Found it from the 1C forums, we already know that WWII & Korea will be made with BoB:SoW engine, but WWI too?? :hmm: Tho, the post havent been made by anyone in the dev team nor moderators...

...And even though they were told over and over again, that this is only the start into a new era of game-engine, covering all theaters from WW1 to Korea and later, they will cry out still.
Boggles the mind...

Few pics I havent seen before:
http://mission4today.com/index.php?n...ewtopic&t=1798

Oh, and the pics of the trains etc. on the 2 links are of Foobar's models, NOT 1C's. Some of them might be in BoB, some not.

Gee, after looking at the links, it looks more like SoW is going to be more of a Train Sim :hmm: . I hope those trains will be eye candy as well as mobile targets

As I said, those models are made by Foobar, not by anyone from the developement team. Oleg might be using some of them models in SoW, but I doubt it.

Development update
Quote:
Hi,

Summer is gone….
So now more regular updates!

I don’t post direct images fromour new engine due to fact that we haven’t yet all items fine altogether and you may see some artifacts… So later… I have great experience when I show the things with temporal bugs and artifacts, then users begin to think that it will be in the final release…. Which isn’t soon really…. So I prefer to wait and show then real things (maybe just with small bugs…)

So now I would like to show some new almost final models in engine tools (like in engine, but not at all)

Let’s look here for details of guns (Do-215B-1)
http://files.games.1c.ru/il2pict/Do-215B-1_WiP_11.jpg

Details of Stuka

Beaufighter Mk 1

http://files.games.1c.ru/il2pict/Bea...Mk1_WiP_15.jpg

Real time self-shading in a cockpit of Fiat BR.20 (moving shadows of cockpit frames due to changes of light way). The only one shot directly from Alfa.

Ju-88A-1 details

Giant flying boat Sunderland Mk I (On each aircraft propellers in rotation are 3D as well)
http://files.games.1c.ru/il2pict/Sunderland_Mk-I_08.jpg

And some ground modeling in tools (finally will look even better!)
