I'm using Fraps for video capture and for some reason it slows down the volumetric water effects. Everything is nice and smooth in game until I hit F-9 and it slows it down during capture.

I have a brand new game system. Asus board, Quad core Intel 2.66, Radeon ATI Sapphire HD 5770 card with 1 gig of dedicated memory and 8 gigs of RAM. Windows 7 64 bit premium. So I know the system is fast enough. Maybe it's the DRM? Because all the other Sims I have are smooth.

Watch the video and you can see it happen if you look close. Weird.

Steve

Yeah, I get the same. Its not a fps issue, the effects like bow spray, smoke, flames, depth charge spray, bubbles, etc, sometmes slow down to a crawl while recording even though ships, flags etc move with no lag.

Only one, seems to be an general type, but construction is quite good. I'm playing in 42, but quite sure there is no evolution during the years...

@astradeus:
Great shots, unfortuneately the interface kinda ruins them. If SH5 is like other releases, IIRC the DEL key on the number pad removes the interface and you can get some great screen shots.

Welcome aboard!
