I think maybe if the sub on the surface intro view had inter cut scenes of interior video of crew animations doing tasks like changing speed in the engine room etc . This would just break up the never ending opening video of the sub on the surface . This would keep people attention more , just a thought .

Basically I'm making the film from one patrol, so I'm spending time taking shots as I play. I've already finished the new intro and nearly finished an enroute sequence that does include interior cinematic scenes that show the crew in anticipation of that first contact. The different scenes that span the course of a few days include a timestamp at the beginning as it is telling the story of this one patrol, during which I have no idea what is going to happen, the game is my storyboard.

I prefer this way of filming as I don't have to match my scenes to a pre-determined plot, which gives me a lot more freedom to roll with the punches and anything that comes out of the blue can only make the video a more enjoyable experience, except CTD's of course. At the moment, with two main scenes complete I'm sitting at the 7 minute mark, I've yet to meet any enemy shipping and I've only just begun a run up the English east coast on my way around the north of Scapa Flow to the Atlantic air gap, dropping off a spy in Northern Ireland which will take me across a main convoy route in the AM52 area. A lot of scope for some action.

So to your point about mixing scenes, I have to say that for a short sequence like the ones I posted I have to agree with you, it would add a lot, but with what I'm trying to achieve I have to be careful not to overuse certain scenes, especially interior ones where animations are limited. I don't suppose this video will be under 20 minutes long, I'd like for a nice round half an hour, but that all depends on what the game throws at me and whether I'll be sailing back into port victorious or slowing fading into the abyss to the sound of creaking iron. We shall see.

Dunno if it's a bug but when I go into the free camera the colors go to this. I quite like it.

This is the only screen I have been able to capture. Could someone refresh my memory how to take a screen, I try shift F11 but it asks if I want to take a sequence. Thanks guys.

Thanks Volodya61, that was it! Now how would I go about posting the pics not as an attachment but at a descent size ( half size jpegs )?

Just use any image hosting service.. for example, I use this one - http://postimage.org/

you can choose the size before uploading..
this is full size - 1600x900

this is half size - 800x450
