All of the BBs there except for the AZ and Utah should be raised by 44.

Default It ain't no destroyer.

This bad a$$ tanker started giving me trouble south of Rabaul and I was shocked to see the searchlights on these tankers. He sighted my periscope second pic and started slinging lead, I couldn't surface for I was out of deck gun ammo ( too busy earlier sinking small freighters to save torps ) and of course both tankers started to scatter in different directions. Put two torps each in them but both got away as they each were doing 10 kts and I did not have enough juice left in the batteries. The pics are pretty dark and hard to see but the idea of their useing the searchlights ( and no DD around to help them either....bless their little hearts :rotfl: ) just made my day.

Yeouch that light is bright.

Thanks DEVs.

Correct me if I am wrong, but two torps per tanker should make it go ka-boom, no?

Can't correct you and yes two torps each and no sinky, solly. I think patch 1.3 thickened their hides a little.

Course sometimes I'm a lousy shot.

From my understanding takers rarely went ka-boom, because they had often raw oil or other stuff on board that's not easy to inflame. Furthermore these ships were build to resist: the oil was put into many small chambers so it wouldn't ignite etc.
Correct me if I'm wrong but's that what they said in adocumentary.

There were tankers that blew up with one torpedo (avgas) and tankers that burned for days but never sank.

Nicholas Monsarrat talked in his book The Cruel Sea and his stories about sailors dying from suffocation in oily seas, and sailors trying to swim away getting caught in the flames. They burned, they didn't burn, they blew up, they didn't blow up, they sank, they didn't sink.

It shouldn't be predictable.
