Default Why won't my uboat go?

I made a daring attack on a tanker just off the southern coast of Ireland. Bagged a big tanker.

I survived 5 destroyers hunting me until I could get to deeper water. Settled onto the bottom and went silent until they finally went away. Surfaced, and now when I try to go at any speed the diesel engines are running but I make 0 knots speed.

Here is my current damage status:

I think my boat should be able to go.

Very sad we survived all of that and now can't get away.

it sounds as if you left your crew at battle stations for too long and they are all fatigued.

From damage report, both your propeller shafts (antriebswelle) are damaged. Repairable (otherwise they would be highlighted red instead of orange), but still not operational - try to wait until crew fixes them (you probably will have to be surfaced for repairs to continue).

Edit: also, make sure your crew are not on battle stations, silent running or whatever other emergency state - some of these pause repairs in order to prioritize other activities.

The problem was I had told the Bosun to send the crew to their bunks to conserve air.

I had to turn that off. Then we got underway again.
