Default creating havoc in GW2!

Hi Mush,

I have been using the Uber-boot in GWX as a relaxer, and most enjoyable it is.

I upgraded to GW2 - had a bit of trouble, needed to toally reinstall everything before using.

I added the uber-boot but when running my first patrol out of Kiev, I started the gramophone and got a ctd!

GW2 works fine normally, is the uber-boot GW2 compatible?

Uber may be but by and large it was made long before the 2.0 release
of GWX. that said its a standalone and should work. but no guarantees.

Default Type XI U-cruiser

Mush,

Was looking at U-boat.net just now - looking at Walther boats but found a list of Boats never built, including the type XI U-Cruiser:

Type XI U-cruisers

Huge U-boats, designed in 1937-1938, with 4 127mm deck guns in two gun-towers (one fore and aft of the conning tower). 6 torpedo tubes (4 in the bow and two at the stern, all below the CWL). One Ar 231 small aircraft in a watertight 2.6m in diameter container shaft. These boats were to have a crew of about 110 men almost double that of any constructed German U-boat. 4 contracts (U-112 thru U-115) were awarded to the AG Weser yard in Bremen on Jan 17, 1939 but wisely cancelled at the outbreak of war in September that year and none of the boats had been laid down at the time (some sources mention U-112 as being laid down but that does not make sense). These boats are often claimed to not only have been completed but sailed, usually on very clandestine missions and for good measure words like SS, Hitler, Bormann and the like are thrown into the mix. None of this is true and they very certainly not black as some suggest as it is somewhat hard to paint something that does not exist black.



Now THAT would make a real Uberboot!

Yeah I know, it wouldve been nice to do twin dg mounts
but I couldnt get it to work.

[edit] I think 112 did get her keel laid. but not much else before
scrapping. there were no completions as far as I can determine.

some suggestions for make Uberboot better

Ahoy Mush Martin, I try your Uberboot Mod. You MADE REALLY GREAT JOB but I have some suggestion to make it better. My apologies if somebody suggest same things earlier in this topic (I didn’t read them all- thread is BIG)
  • Don’t give ALL BEST STUFF/EQUIPMENT directly with Uberboot, it is not interesting if player get all best gear on begin of war FOR FREE!
  • Make that Uberboot come with ONLY BASIC GEARS, when player buy it and player most collect renown on missions and upgrade it on same way such as any other subs in SH3 and make EQUIPMENT AVABILITY on historically dates or maybe 6-8 months earlier.
  • Give your UBERBOOT PROPER PRICE, DON’T GIVE IT FOR FREE DIRECTLY FROM BEGIN A CHAMPAGIN! THIS IS SIMILAR TO CHEAT CODES FOR ME (B.d.U. surly don’t give a THIS caliber sub into hands of inexperienced CAPTAINS) Is much better feeling is if player must work hard to earn needed renown and then buy it for REWARD for the HARD WORK. This way is better at least for me.
  • Maybe you can use some sub hull from SH4 for your UBERBOOT because they have SUPPORT FOR MORE DECK GUNS ON IT?
  • Do you find a way to put uberboot into SH3 as new playable without replace exiting subs in SH3? Maybe GWX team can help you with this problem or somebody else.
I was looking forward on your work on Uberboot mod.

I think uberboot is past, mate. Mush Martin stopped working on it.

Besides, uberboot is for fun, its cheat all the way, so doenst make much sense to make it a little less cheater.

Take a look on the files within the mod, expecially the .cfg ones, they are pretty easy to reconfigure yourself. Any doubt, PM me and I'll gladly assist.

I agree that as an arcade approach theres little point in strategic
progression.

I have moved over to work on mainly shIV atm. but I am looking
into getting the last uber put out by an active shIII modder so
there still maybe one more yet but its currently uncertain how or
when it will happen.

I am really disappoint because you stopped development of Uberbooat mod. It have big potential at least for me. I give suggestion to GWX team if somebody of his team members been interesting to continue your work and maybe add it into GWX.

No worries but most of the GWX team has a mit load of other projects
so its unlikely they would be interested in the main.

also I already have an SHIII active subsimmer that is looking over the
project at the moment. thanks though.

I've been trying to access the filefront servers for two days now without any success.

I have installed Uberboot. I can get it to start but as soon as I touch a key on the keyboard, my screen goes blank, but I can still hear the boat. Anyone know what the problem is?

When is verson 2 going to be ready?

What?? Thread reincarnation??? KILL IT NOW!!!

IIRC, uberboot is not compatible with GWX 2.0.

The closest you can get to a uberboot mod compatible with GWX 2.0 is my nautilus mod, you can get it on my FF-page, in my signature. Is pretty much a similar mod.

I already have Uberboot installed on my old TGW. However I am having problems get it to run properly. I can get it to start, but then eventually I get a black screen but can hear the game playing, but I cannot get back to the NavNMap or any other part. I need help.

I see I got two there, sorry about that.

Also, because I cannot use Commander with Uberboot, how can I qualify my crew as Flak gunners and Deck Gunners, etc.?

I was able to determine all my crew names on the boat, but there are not Flak or Gunners qualified. I would like to qualify them. How do I do it?
