Well I got the boat now.
I transfered to the 7th flot and bought an other boat. Then I bought an type 9 again and it was the uber-boat.
If you don't have enough renown, just alter your save game.

I'm using the Uber-boot and have a problem.

as I move intowards a convoy, my lookout keeps spotting a warship and keeps spotting and spotting and spotting!! problem is - it's the same warship!!! He reports it so often that I get sunk because I can't do anything or dish out orders because of this lookout!

I know I can set a default action but I don't really want one, sometimes I'm taking out the escorts other times I'm going after a few merchants before the escort gets near.

Why does the stupid idiot KEEP reporting the same ship, over and over again??

I don't recall this problem using ordinary subs.

any ideas?

p.s. apart from this idiot, the Uber-boot rocks!

Default The Official Uberboat development thread

The Uberboat should have been available to you the minute you installed the Uberboat Mod for "1" one renown point ! If it is costing you more than that, something is wrong ! I don't know at what point in the war when you installed the uberboat ? I've never had any of the problem as you described with the watch officers !

No I havent either but I think I remember someone mentioning it
before?

In Uberboot 1.4b there are no changes made to visual detection settings
it seems unlikely that the issue would be caused by Uber in this case however.

that said I am making some sensor changes in 2.0 and should do some
weather testing maybe.

I remember when I was playing early on vanilla I had a fog situation where
he kept calling it out as the ships were not closing quickly. otherwise I
dont have any worthy contribution to the solution.

I do remember though seeing this issue posted before somewhere else
you should try the forum search on mods workshop and see what
you can find on it.
M

[edit] P.s. it wouldnt hurt to choose "Maintain current orders" as your default in the
meantime then he just hollers and nothing else happens, bonus being the question
screen no longer pops up.

I MAY have the solution.

I have observed this myself. It usually comes up when the ship is at the extreme edge of actual visual range for the conditions you are facing. What seems to happen is that unless the lookout is able to see it continually, it calls it as a separate ship each time he is able to spot it...usually about 1-4 second intervals. I had a situation very similar with my radar...and the answer was to turn it off temporarily.

Not sure exactly how you would fix it...but maybe knowing how it is happening will help...

Uhm Pardon?

is it possible your using sh3 commander uber is incompatable with commander.

could you elaborate a bit.

it should be as simple as any version of sh3 you care to run.
install by jsgme do not use commander. sub will appear in list
as type ixb.

career flotilla is still screwed up in 1.4beta but if you repurchase it
after the new year you can continue your career in uber (also dirt cheap)

single mission issue I am not sure about it should be there under
"surface combat"
