Default Silent Hunter 4 Watch Times

Hi, just wondering when do the watches rotate in SH4? I want to know so I can put my best men on the overnight watch. Cheers. To be specific, when does watch 1 go from and to. I assume they are 8 hour shifts.

4 hour shifts, shift 1 works from 12-4 and 12-4.

And, in addition to what doulos05 said, considering the time changes/zones, your night watch will evenutually end up on day watch. Be careful moving them around too much. They may get exhausted if you don't rest them and their efficiency levels fall, dramatically after a while.

doulos05 is right. They have four hour shifts.

When I was in the Navy we had four duty section in port and three at sea.

Only one duty section had watch standing per day. Everyone else had their normal duties to attend to. Each section was also split into three subsections. We had four hour shifts so if you went on at midnight (first watch) you had your shift till 0400. At 0730 you mustered for the days normal duties and at 1200 went back on watch again.

Each subsection had to stand watch twice a day for their time zone.

For the record I hated the second watch (0400-0800 and 1600-2000) shift. It made for a long day.

I honestly don't think it matters, the crew doesn't have directional sighting per say, more like visual value for certain ranges. I have never noticed a sight difference regardess of crew ratings, main thing is to leave the watch officer in his slot. I also think they see as good no matter how tired they're, unless they fall asleep. The crew efficiency ratings don't seem to be implemented in the game as well as they should be and the numbers can go all over the board, often not making sense...However, morale and health seem to have more of an impact.

My guess is efficiency ratings don't have much impact unless they get fairly low, above a certain level it doesn't matter....
