Curious How Many Running SH4 in Windows 10?

I have been trying everything under the sun to get SH4 up and running but nothing is working.
I have the Gold Edition download from Amazon which has the U-boat missions and V1.5 patch but nothing is working.
Just wondering how many others have run into an impassable wall and have had to give up on it.
I really, really don't want to get to that point. I love this game since it first came on. No other sub simulator matches it.
I know there is SH5 and Wolfpack but I really, really want to stick with my Pacific Theater and USN subs.

I think I gave up on 10, runs fine on win7pro and regular win7. Numerous people have it running on 10.

been running on Win10 for several years w/o any real problems.
have you read through the Win10-SH4 Forum for some hints?
it would be a waste of time to start walking through the various issues that some have had if you have not read through the collective knowledge base yet.
no offense intended but it is there to help all Kaleuns overcome their Win-Sh4 issues.

I've been reading and trying everything I've been finding on this forum, Steam forum and Youtube.
So far I've gotten rid of the black screen but only if everything stays at 1024x768 which is nothing more than a square window on my monitor.
Tried out a couple of patrols and the game plays fine I just can't get it to go full screen on my monitor.
I've been playing endlessly with the (2) .cfg files within the [VIDEO RESOLUTION] section but still haven't been able to get that magic combination to get it to work.

ok, that's a step in the right direction.
are you aware that there are two sets of video options?
the first set is on the main screen and it controls the options for War Patrols and Single missions.
the second set is in the Home Port screen when you are playing a US or German career. to change these options, there are two distinct touch points.
for the US Options, click on the old style radio set on the file cabinets.
for the German options, click on the file cabinets.

While I haven't done much career work in the game, something I hope to change if I can ever get it running right, None of graphics selections including unclicking the windows selection allows the game to go to full screen.
When I unclick the windows mode in the graphics section all it does it change the .cfg file to whatever is selected in the resolution selection and if I try to restart it without putting the .cfg back to 1024x768 it will give me the black screen lock up all over again.

Can you copy your .cfg files and show me what they look like.
Want to see if there's a setting in there I can use to get the game going right.
Here is a copy of both my files need to look like just so it can run in the 1024x768 window mode with going to full black screen and needing a reboot.
This is just the video resolution part of the .cfg. Don't know if anything else in the files would be causing the problems I'm having. If it was time compression I don't think it would matter the resolution.

As you can see it says Yes in the Fullscreen line.
That happens when I click of the windows mode in the games graphic setup.
If I don't either reclick it back on or go into the .cfg file and put it back to No it will lock up on me again.
