Depends on mods you use, not much action there

You could just sail there, loiter around the area to fulfil the mission objectives, then either radio in for new orders or strike out to a more target-rich area.
Once the objective star turns grey it means you've completed the assigned objective. |

I bet you're talking December 1941 or early 1942. The thinking was that the Japanese could be hiding out in one of the nearby island chains to make a second attack on Pearl to get the targets they left untouched: submarines and aircraft fuel. As a matter of fact, it was assumed that these were left untouched purposely to be mopped up with a follow-up attack.
So first priority was to check the nearby archipelagos for the carrier fleet that hammered Pearl Harbor. In real life there was nothing to find. You aren't finding anything. Sounds copacetic!

Are you running the stock game or with mods such as RSRD? TMO? Stock , well some areas are just blank, nothing there. Marshall Islands, etc Mods like RSRD that go for a more historical approach mostly have it right, esp for convoys you have to find the shipping lanes. Suggest open the appropriate traffic files with mission editor to see the lanes OR search for the RSRD TMO shipping lanes here at subsim. What even RSRD does lack is in certain areas there is not enough shipping but should be some , such as gulf of siam.. I'm working on addressing this problem as we speak. |
