^ Maybe my permanently hungry son would appreciate a pack of bologna mouse mats, which he could eat when they wear out

Went to the beach again this morning to fish. Didn’t catch a damn thing, but can’t complain as I was at beach. Back home on the patio tippin’ back a whiskey on the rocks listening to the Rolling Stones Monkey Man.

Weirdly, my 'daily astrology horoscope' reads thusly:

YIPES! What a thing to read over my morning cuppa-joe!

The beautiful French SOE agent "Mirabelle" - she never needed to elude the Germans since whenever they captured her and told her to talk - she wouldn't stop so they let her go. Or maybe this is just Moira in her new jumper

(I posted this on my Facebook page yesterday and so far they all seem unsure as to whether it's a spoof - which of course it is. Moira got the jumper a couple of weeks ago lol)

I'm getting my Windows pages opening half-sized and sometimes way off the right hand edge of the desktop - meaning I then have to then drag them back onto the desktop before I can get at the full screen icon; this is getting really annoying. So I just did a search to learn how to get my windows to always open maximised:

Out shopping with the wife and come across a shoplifter who was giving the shop assistant who challenged them some serious grief. Stepped in and the silly billy threw a punch the consequences of which led them to being put down on the floor and being physically detained until local law enforcement arrived.

Thirty minutes later I am thanked by the law and the wife is scolding me saying I am too old for this rubbish now.

I answered "What if it had of been you who had a punch thrown at them?" and she replied "That would be different and you are there to protect me in such a case"

Happens very rarely thankfully but this isn't the first time.

...and just who would run things at if you were to keel over from a cardiac infarction or the now trendy TIA? Your wife is right; stay out of it. I avoided assisting in stores where I'm the armed guy doing a ATM call to protect the ATM technician, particularly in San Francisco/Oakland where shoplifting is rampant, often ongoing in my presence; and car breakins are utterly, brazenly, endemic. The lawsuit potential isn't worth it especially with a 'gold-ticket' pension. Let the store camera and clerk's eyewitness testimony do their job. That said, on two/three occasions over 20 years, I've assisted a single policeman who weren't winning handily in subduing their resisting-arrest malfeasor. Nothing serious; just enough additional force to bring the scuffle to an adroit injury-free end-7 years of wrestling is a useful lifetime tool they don't teach at academies. Filling out a witness after-report was always required. At 72, (within a fortnight!??) in my present condition, I'd probably forbear altogether.

I usually do (stay out of it) but once in a blue moon it can be hard to ignore, especially if the problem is only splitting distance away.

I'll learn one day but hopefully after not being on the end of a severe beating.

Cheers, folks.

Been a hot minute since I've been around, and it's likely to be another before I return again. Recently finished my first tour of duty and, for some reason, chose to keep on with it; moved to Florida and am now teaching my job to the new faces joining the fleet.

Trying to get used to the daily life still; happily single still, though perhaps a little less than a few years ago, and had a bout with alcoholism a while back that I managed to get over before it got too bad. I'll be damned if I let that stop me from enjoying the drink though; can't afford to give sailors nor Irishmen a bad rep.

I'm hoping all you old-timers a doing great, and if there's ever a roll call, just know you might need to message me directly to get ahold of me; I'm more than willing to help where needed.

P.S.: Still thinking about a role-play flotilla for SHIII again, now that I'm on shore for a bit.

I wasn't really sure where to put this, but it is a great interview.
