Default LSH3 2020 Mod - limit contacts?

Is there a way (either by mod or by manually changing a game file) to lower the number of contacts? Seems to me there should be a lot less opportunity to engage ships/convoys and if possible I'd like to reduce the number so that if feels more 'realistic' to me.

Anyone know how many attacks were averaged by U-boats on a patrol? Seems like I'm always returning to base because I'm out of torpedoes and rarely for fuel (and never for food/supplies).

Also, is there a good mod that slows down the sink time of ships (or atleast randomizes this)?

Any/all help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hi SamjoDo fire up the mission editor within your LSH2020 Install open ou the RND Random leyer and delete 50-60% of the single ship entries or reduce the spawning probobility from 70-90% to 20-30% that should do the trick if you are not too confident in doing that task i can do it for you by the weekend if you want me to do it for you reply to this post

Ok, opened up mission editor and opened up the RND layer - now I'm stuck, what comes after that? Looks like I need to pick a mission to edit. I'd like to make it so when I'm playing a campaign the contacts are reduced - what folder(s) should I be opening up?

the RND Leyer has lots of entries you can delete single ship entries or lower the respawn time hours from 125hrs to 500hrs so they spawn less frequent

Ok, found the RND.mis folder but now what? How do I know what files/entries are the single ship entries that I want to delete?

If the Mission Editor (ME) closes when you open the RND layer, then there is something not compatible in the file with the ME. Several things to check... be certain that you use the ME in the LSH folder -AND- that you are opening the Campaign_RND.mis file in that same game folder, else things will most likely crash like that. For whatever reason, both the SH3 and the SH4 ME apps remember your last-used folder, no matter where you open the ME from. If you do not use the correct ME (so it can read the correct game Roster folder), and the correct Campaign files (so it can "call" the proper modded Roster folder), then things can get wonky real fast...
