Default Bubblehead, issue with TMOwTW

Wondering if there is a known issue when a philipine campaign is started and then the home port changes over to freemantle while on patrol?

I'm having a CTD when I try to end patrol in Freemantle, I've tried at least a dozen times. Haven't had any other issues with the wTW. It's been great up till now.

Can't recall the exact port (& post, to be frank... ), but... I do seem to recall an issue with docking at port in Australia.

As I said.. can't recall the exact post, only that this was an issue with FotRS, & that is based off of TMO, just not TMO w TW's... though.

Is a slim to none possibility, it could be related... as both are TMO based... it could well be, a shared issue... possibly.

What I recall, is an issue with docking out at the assigned port there.

Think, besides Bubblehead1980, that propbeanie & s7rikeback, may have useful info on that issue. maybe, even KaleunMarco... perhaps.

Please provide details...date, time, type of sub

My first campaign in TMO Update started in Manila in Dec 41, had no issues when transferred to Fremantle end of Feb 1942 ( still going in 1943) .

I just did a quick test after saw your post, no issues.

Only known issue with Fremantle and any port is if run time compression too high, especially when entering port, can cause CTD. That is a SH 4 thing as been present forever. I even lowered the number of ships in harbor which helped.

I recall you have some issues previously. My TMO mod was not made with TMOwTW in mind, I have nothing to do with TW version of TMO, so there are bound to be conflicts that can cause this. If I recall you were not using JSGME but manually moving files?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I ended up deleting all the saves and starting over before you posted a reply. Thanks Sir!

M. M.
IIRC, the only CTD issue(s) when docking is either high TC (over 64) or PC-memory conflict (which is not controllable).
these are SH4-based and not mod-based.

Using some modsets (and possibly SH4-Stock) there could be a delay between the time Manila/Surabaya shuts down and the time that Perth/Fremantle is activated. but this issue will not cause CTD, only a delay in docking and ending your patrol.

the fixes for the CTD's above are a. use lower TC as you are heading into port and 2. reboot and reload your mission.

No problem, should always check forums though, I make a point to respond as quickly as possible in support of the mod.

I am shocked by all of your issues and have been unable to replicate them on my install, unless running into port at high TC. The repeated CTD though makes me wonder if its something else. Currently, I have surmised that it is due to running my mod with TMO wTW, but have not had a chance to download and look over TMO wTW for conflicts, but this is what am thinking based on the numerous major changes I made.

Example, my mod and ship packs makes major changes to the roster, reclassifies different ships as different vessels for organization and functionality of the mod, so when you are coming into port and the sim calls on a vessel to spawn that was classified as a Corvette (Type 1) but is now a Destroyer Escort (Type3) etc. it could and likely would trigger a CTD. Again, I am guessing but makes sense with the repeated issues have stated.

Yeah just weird stuff. Since I wiped all the saves and started all over, I had no problem getting into Brisbane on a new campaign. Go figure. Always appreciate the help guys! this has been my go to game since picking up the mods here. Always liked vanilla but it was getting a bit old after so many years, but the mods such as TMOwtw and Fotrsu have me playing pretty much every day after work.

Glad you got it worked out. Let us know how your patrol goes.
