NEW LEAGUE LEADER
...and we have our first two teams to clinch.

Week Thirteen in the Subsim Fantasy Football League, and we have a new league leader. We have defenses that are putting up more scores than some wide receivers. We have Kickers who can punt a ball more yards that some defenses. And we have our first clinch of the season, as we get ready for the play offs.

What does all this mean? Stick around and find out, as we check the grounds, tabulate the results and put together the best picture that we have of the post season, right after this message.

DONATE TO SUBSIM...AND NOMINATE SUBSIM FANTASY FOOTBALL FOR BEST OF SUBSIM

Our Match f the Week was a beauty with the Banter Brigade hosting the Who Dat Nation. The Nation need at least two wins from their last three games to secure the Leagues #1 seed, but they started as underdogs to the Boss team. A win by the Nation would keep them at least one game ahead of the Nighthawks while a loss will elevate the Boss into contention within the Surface Skimmers league, and drag the Nation back to the Nighthawks. There was a lot is riding on this game, and it did not disappoint. The Bosses started one player down, leaving one of their wide receivers off the field. Not that they need it, Amon Saint Brown (WR) and AJ Moore (WR) combined for over 76 points alone, setting up the Nation with a massive chase. Coach Fuel For Blood started the pursuit well with Joe Burrow (QB) and Cam McCafferty (RB) bringing the score within trailing distance, but that would be the theme of the week. The Brigade put up too many points and while Alvin Kamara (RB) in years past may have been able to chase down the Brigade on Monday night, it was not to be. The Bosses account for the league leading Who Dat Nation handily by walloping them 167 - 123.

With the high scoring game of the Bosses and the Nation over, lets turn our attention to the low scoring game of the Banter Brigade and the Guns of Hochuli. This was a case of who could survive. The Gunners were clear favorites from the outset until 3 seconds into the game when Lamar Jackson (QB) went down. With no one left to run, pass, or even start at Tight End, the opportunity to steal a game from the Gunners presented an opportunity that couldn't be passed up, The Banter had to do just enough to get the win...and that's exactly what they did, just enough. Barely enough. Not even their Greatest of All Time Tom Brady (QB) was terrific, leaving it all in the hands of Cee Dee Lamb (WR) to put up the necessary points to get the win. In the second steal of the weekend, the Banter Brigade upset the Guns of Hochuli in a low scoring match, 111 - 67.

These two games set up an opportunity for the Helmand Nighthawks to get back in the hunt. The Nighthawks have not been playing to their strength this year - actually none of the major players have but it was especially noticeable this year. Needless losses, hard losses, it was as though thee Nighthawks wanted to have a come form behind season instead of their lead from the front. Well, they did it again this week, coming from behind after Devonte Adams (RB) ran up 43 points on his own for the Black cats. Unfortunately, they were almost all of the Cats points and the Nighthawks just had to play smart and ensure they had all their men on the field. Their defense was superb this week as the browns (DEF) put up a league high 30 points. (Just love it when we talk about defense outscoring the running backs.) Helmand Nighthawks received a score update about the Who Dat Nation game in late in the weekend and just cruised into Monday night knowing Chris Goodwin (WR) needed only to catch some passes to secure the win. Nighthawks send the cats off howling with a decisive divisional win 116-85.

Our fourth and final game was the Australian Taipans hosting the Drunk Monkeys. Once again, we talk about solid defense with the Cowboys (DEF) putting up 20 of the Taipans points. The Drunk Monkeys have been a bogey team for the league this year, and the Taipans needed to dispose of them quickly to secure their position. This was a lot closer than the final score demonstrated as it was not until Josh Jacobs (RB) got on the field that the Taipans were able to secure the win. In what was an atypical display, it became the pivotal game of the weekend given the other results that occurred. Final score Australian Taipans defeat the Drunk Monkeys 149 - 106.

So, watch this folks, here's where the table gets sorted out.

The loss by the Who Dat Nation and the Guns of Hochuli, plus the win by the Australian Taipans, give them the outright lead of the league for the first time this season. They were 1-3 and last place in the league in week 4 before stringing together 8 straight wins. The loss by the Gunners with no divisional games remaining means the Taipans have the won the division, and will enter the play offs as either the #1 or the #2 seed.

And after that, it gets muddy.

The Who Dat Nation and the Helmand Nighthawks are both tied at 8-5. The Nighthawks are 7-3 within the division while the Who Dat Nation are 5-4. With a two game divisional lead the Nighthawks will win the division, if they finish at the top of the ladder. The Nighthawks become the second team to secure their ticket to play offs, but its not clear yet where they stand. They could finish anywhere between the first and fourth seed. Nighthawks clinch somewhere, and must wait out the next two weeks to secure.

And behind them is an angry mob of four teams at 6-7. The Boss team, The Gunners, the Banter Brigade and even the Drunk Monkeys are all still alive for a play off position. At least one of these two teams will advance to the Championship series, and one of them could go in as high as the #3 seed. There are too many possible combinations and count back scenarios for this column, so we'll just make it easy. Of these four teams, win and you're in. It's that simple.

The Black Cats, having been eliminated last week, will fill one of the Consolation Series seeding.

So who do we look at at next week. The real battle is who gets in and with that we're going back to watch a pair of 6-7 teams feud. The Drunk Monkeys will be hosting the Boss team next week, and the winner could punch their ticket to the playoffs with a win...and some help. We'll be watching every game but the Monkeys will be our Match of the Day.

Each week, (including the week where our post vanished) the Associated Subsim Writers (ASW) will nominated their Most Valuable Torpedo (MVT) of the week, the single player who proved decisive in their teams performance.

You want to win in this league, you have to have a throwing arm. For the effort of 380 yards and 3 touchdowns, and then rushing another 12 yards for another touchdown, for a total of 45.40 points, the Week Thirteen MVT goes to Jaylen Hurts (QB) of the Boss Team.

NIGHTHAWKS CLINCH DIVISION
...and take aim at the league.

Week Fourteen in the Subsim Fantasy Football League. We have this and next week to sort out out who else is going to the championship playoffs, and folks, there's a lot of team that could do, but only four will make it.

Who are they? Let's find out after this important message.

DONATE TO SUBSIM...AND NOMINATE SUBSIM FANTASY FOOTBALL FOR BEST OF SUBSIM

Our Match of the Week was a a full on heavy weight battle with a pair of sub .500% teams trying to get to the playoffs. The Drunk Monkeys, perennial favorite as the best damm team that never show up, have had some competition this year from an expansion team, the Boss team, who also didn't show up. The winner of this game was going to put themselves in contention to stay alive in the championship series. This was an arm throwing battle between Jaylen Hurts (QB) for the Bosses and Justin Herbert (QB) for the Drunk Monkeys. While the Bosses gained the advantage with Hurts, it was the wide receiving corp of the Drunk Monkeys that showed up to give the red rump beasts a lead. With the Boss team sitting out three (3) players under covid protocol, it eventually lead the Drunk Monkeys running away with this win late Sunday evening. The dream stays alive with the Drunk Monkeys swinging through the trees convincing winners, accounting for the Boss Team 137 - 85.

In Oregon, Coach Fuel For Blood made a late change to his lineup right before kick off, so late in fact, I was still looking at his listed team from Saturday on Sunday afternoon before I realized he had picked up Pittsburgh (DEF) from the waiver wire and started them. When Josh Allen (QB) for the Australian Taipans had a blah game, this looked like it could be a stolen victory for the Who Dat Nation if only Joe Burrow (QB) could perform. He also had a blah game, almost matching an identical score with Josh Allen (QB), thus handing the game over to Cam McCafferty (RB) to put away. McCafferty (RB) ran and caught touchdowns, but so did Derrick Henry (RB) for the Taipans. The Nation ran out the game on the back of their wide receivers who just didn't score enough points. Taipans get their eight consecutive win and defeat the Who Dat Nation 158 - 103.

In the Carolina's the Black Cats were hosting the Guns of Hochuli. Coach Casey appeared earlier in the weekend then Coach Fuel For Blood and for this game, I actually had the right players on the scorecard before the game started. This was always going to be a lopsided affair as the Cats simply didn't have enough players on the field to mount a challenger, given up two (2) players for Covid. Their situation was made even worst when on the third play of Monday night Kyler Murray went down faster than if he had been torpedoed. Guns of Hochuli cruise to an easy victory over the Black Cats by defeating them 100 - 69.

In England, the local derby of the Helmand Nighthawks hosting the cross country rivals the Banter Brigade didn't go as well as expected. Once again the quarterback issue failed to perform, this time for the Banter when Tom Brady (QB) barely made it to double figure. Up against Patrick Mahonnes (QB) who threw for his standard 300 plus yards, the Nighthawks had this game won by the time they got to Monday night, but still had two (2) players on the bench to play. What should have been a big night for Deandre Hopkins (WR) and Rhondre Stevenson (RB) just fizzled out. They still gave the Nighthawks the win 121- 75, but forgot about the bigger picture.

So lets look at that bigger picture and see what the post season clarity looks like.

The Australian Taipans at 10 - 4 have won the Surface Skimmers division. They will enter the post season as either the #1 or the #2 seed.

The Helmand Nighthawks are at 9-6. Their divisional record is 7-2, two games clear of their nearest divisional rival. They have secured the Sub Simmers division and will enter the post season as either the #1 or the #2 seed.

And now its gets messy, complicated, and with too many variables.

The Who Dat Nation are currently 8-6 and sit as the #3 seed. A win next week and they secure that position. A loss, and with other results, they could fall as low as the 6th position. For the Nation, its win and advance.

The Guns of Hochuli and the Drunk Monkeys have equal divisional records, but the Gunners currently occupy the #4 seed by virtue of a better scoring record. Both teams could advance as high as the #3 seed, or fall as low as the #7th seed. They will be playing with multiple count back solutions.

The Bosses and the Brigade are equal at 6-8 but the Brigade has outscored both the Gunners and the Drunk Monkeys. The Brigade could advance as high as the #4 seed and eliminate both the Gunners and Monkeys. The Bosses can only advance to the Championship with a win and a miracle.

The Black Cats at 3-11 have a secure hold of the #8 seed.

So with that picture where do we get our Match of the day from which this week, includes Saturday playing time. We're going down under - and not for the final time this year, where the Australian Taipans host the Helmand Nighthawks. Both teams have won their respective divisions - and this might be a Torpedo Bowl preview, but the post season seeding is still up for grabs. The Taipans lead the Nighthawks by one game. If the Nighthawks win they will have an equal winning record, so we go to the count backs. The Taipans won the first meeting of these two this year, so to get the number 1 seed the Nighthawks have to win the game - and then some. By splitting the head to head wins the second count back goes to total points scored. The Taipans come into the last game with about a 68 points lead. The Nighthawks have to win the game, and win by 69 points in order to steal the #1 seed, and stay home for the post season.

Each week, (including the week where our post vanished) the Associated Subsim Writers (ASW) will nominated their Most Valuable Torpedo (MVT) of the week, the single player who proved decisive in their teams performance.

You want to win in this league, you have to have a throwing arm, still. For the effort of 352 yards and 3 touchdowns, for a total of 33.78 points, the Week Fourteen MVT goes to Patrick Mahonnes (QB) of the Helmand Nighthawks.

WHO'S IN? WHO'S OUT?
Who's missed the playoffs about.

Week Fifteen in the Subsim Fantasy Football League.

It's the end of the regular season. We've trudged our way through fifteen of the most grueling make believe shenanigans to finally arrive at the end of the regular season. Some teams will make make it. Some teams might make it. Some teams should have made it. And someone is going to regret not making it.

Who are they? Let's find out after this important message.

DONATE TO SUBSIM...AND NOMINATE SUBSIM FANTASY FOOTBALL FOR BEST OF SUBSIM

Let's start at the bottom of the ladder where the Black cats had a firm grip on the #8 seed. They welcomed the Drunk Monkeys to North Carolina in a match that meant nothing to the Cats, but meant everything for the Monkeys. Monkeys were facing the long shot prospect of making the finals and had to win - and win big. They were helped out by Coach FYC resting two of his starters for the game, including their starter Kyler Murray (QB). This gave the Monkeys an opportunity to fly through the tree branches. Justin Jefferson (WR) was the biggest branch swinger for the Monkeys leaving them with a sizeable lead. When the Cats forwards of Tampa Bay (DEF) choked and the Monkeys played the Broncos (DEF) for 10 points, it was not only a wild win for the Monkeys, but a gap of size for them. With the first obstacle down the Monkeys had to wait out the remainder of two games before they knew where their final seeding position would be. Drunk Monkeys on the road thieve this one from the Black Cats 138-77.

In England, the Banter Brigade were hosting the visiting Who Dat Nation. Playing in a different timezone gave them a slight advantage of knowing how much they needed to score. Tom Brady (QB) had one of his best days as the starter for the Banter and despite having an atrocious first quarter, Joe Burrow (QB) was able to match the Goat and keep pace on the scoreboard. This was a game that was going to be won or lost in the trenches, and who better to get down and dirty than Nation's star Christian McCafferty (RB). Christian put up 31 unanswered points on his own and while the Banter didn't match it, they kept the game close...until they got to their positional spot - where they had scheduled a ghost. The Banter Brigade fall over int he end by virtue of not playing a full team, allowing the Who Dat Nation to steal the win. Who Dat Nation defeat the Banter Brigade 151 - 133.

In Australia, we had the game of the year with the Taipans hosting the Helmand Nighthawks. Having made the long trek south the Nighthawks started slight favorites against the home - how does that happen? This was the biggest shoot out of the year between the two favorites in what may be a Torpedo Bowl matchup. The Taipans opened up an early lead with Greg Kittle (TE) and Josh Allen (QB) before a single Nighthawk got on the field. The nighthawks chased down the Taipans lead lead by Patrick Mahonnes (QB) and then it was a foot race. Both teams had stacked their players into the Sunday afternoon market and this was a lead changing slug fest. This was the highest scoring game of the week with eleven changes of lead coming into the last quarter. In the last 34 seconds of the game the lead changed five more teams with the Taipans just eeking out a slight lead. And then it happened - we're calling it the Stevenson Streak. When the play clock expired the Nighthawks were in possession of the ball. They were swarmed by the Taipans unable to move forward, losing yards when Rhamonde Stevenson received a lateral pass. And he was off to the races. The Taipans ran him down but not before he had accumulated an additional 24 yards, giving the Nighthawks the win after time had expired on the last play of the day. This was a game you will watch on pretend TV years from now and wish you had been there. The Nighthawks steal the win from the Australian Taipans 175.84 - 173.66, a difference of 2.18 points. Wow.

Having heard some of the earlier game results results come in and the stadium broadcast of the current games going on, the Guns of Hochuli were at home hosting the Boss team. The Gunners were on ice, with the intermediate results going the Drunk Monkeys way putting the Gunners in jeopardy of falling out of the playoffs. Even though they had Stefon Diggs (WR) their star in the snow, he only scored 120.70 points, and the door was opened for a Boss team win. With Jaylen Hurts (QB) and A.J. Brown combining for 73.3 points, the Boss Team marched away form the Gunners in the late first half, and this one was all over by the middle of the second half. It would then become a loss by "how much" for the Gunners. Gunners failed to rally over 100 points succumbing to the Boss Team 174 - 93, and as they walked off the field, they began to check their cell phones and wonder had they made the play offs.

Let's check the play off seedings.

The Helmand Nighthawks and the Australian Taipans came into this game as the #1 and #2 seeds. The Nighthawks needed to beat the Taipans by a wide margin. Now, while the Nighthawks have beaten the Taipans both time this year, either side of the Taipans eight (8) game winning streak, the two teams ended up tied for the best record at 10 - 5. The count back for teams outside the division, is by total point scored. The Taipans earn their first regular season championship as the #1 seed and get to stay home throughout the playoffs. The Helmand Nighthawks with their win stay a game ahead of the their divisional rival, and secure the #2 seed. The win by the Who Dat Nation gives them sole possession of the #3 seed without the need to count back....and then it gets messy.

The win by the Drunk Monkeys and the loss by the Gunners elevates the Drunk Monkeys at 8-7 to the #4 seed, and once again we ask ourselves, who good could this team have been if they're coach had just shown up. The Gunners loss relegates them 7-8 in a tie with the Boss team. The Bosses have outscored everyone int he past few weeks so they are elevated to the #5 position. The Gunners are able to stop the freefall and occupy the #6 position. The Banter Brigade in their debut finish 6-9 while the Black Cats, a once might kingdom, occupy last at 3-12.

Now that we know that, where are the games nest week.

The Taipans stay at home and welcome the Drunk Monkeys to town. The Taipans and Monkeys met three times this year with the Taipans winning all three games, but the Monkeys have shown they could be the best damm team...if they show up.

The Helmand Nightahwks win the Sub Simmers division as the #2 seed and welcome their divisional rival the Who Dat Nation to won. These are the two powerhouse teams of recent history and this game is our Match of the Day.

In the consolation series, the countback elevated the Boss team to the #5 seed and they welcome the Black Cats back to England for the third time this year. The Bosses won all three previous encounters. The Gunners slippage from the #4 seed to the #6 seed means they get to stay at home for one game, but they must be left asking "what if" after leading the league for several weeks. They welcome the expansion team the Banter Brigade to Texas.

Each week, (including the week where our post vanished) the Associated Subsim Writers (ASW) will nominated their Most Valuable Torpedo (MVT) of the week, the single player who proved decisive in their teams performance.

We could have taken a player form the Nightahwks win but when you look at what this team did to get into the final four, we had to give it to them. For the effort of 12 receptions for 123 yards and 1touchdown, for a total of 36.30 points, the Week Fifteen MVT goes to Justin Jefferson (WR) of the Drunk Monkeys.

OMG- WHO LOST THIS WEEKEND?
Who's Going to the Torpedo Bowl?

Week Sixteen in the Subsim Fantasy Football League.

Wow. We have perhaps the biggest upset of the year...so far. We have an expansion team coming through the pack. We have a former Torpedo Bowl winner holding off another expansion team, and we have one game that already, has seen five rewrites of this column throughout the weekend.

And until we get one last game played, we don't know who's going anywhere until the final play of Monday night.

It's a wild and wacky Christmas weekend to start the first week of the play offs, and we have all the gripping details for you, right after this message.

DONATE TO SUBSIM...AND NOMINATE SUBSIM FANTASY FOOTBALL FOR BEST OF SUBSIM

Let's start with one of the international expansion teams, hosting their first play off game on debut. After going through the count back process last week, the Boss team started to dress up Twickenham for the first of two play off games in England. The Bosses were hosting the Black Cats who after a great start to the season, just fell in a slump for the remainder of the regular season. Both teams had their starting quarterbacks sidelined through Christmas day food poisoning (too many North Sea shrimp). Justin Conner (RB) was the stand out for the Cats putting up 25 points on his own, but, Coach FYC also started Tampa Bay (DEF) with the two cancelling each other out. That rookie mistake was not replicated by the Bosses who had Travis Kelce (TE) score 23 points without getting into the in zone. The Bosses had a guest in attendance, Bruce Springsteen, who cheered his name-team on for an easy victory in a relative low scoring game. Bosses ran all over the Black Cats 105 - 70.

In Texas, the Guns of Hochuli were hosting the Banter Brigade. The Gunners were the big losers of the three way count back at the end of the regular season, dropping from fourth to sixth. Coach Casey in the post game interview last week lamented lost opportunities earlier in the season and vowed that the Guns of Hochuli would advance through the consolation series. Against the second expansion team, the Gunners as former Torpedo Bowl winners just had more experience in play off situations than to leave a player on the bench, as the Brigade did with Andrew Robinson (WR). The Gunners didn't put up spectacular numbers, but just methodically continued to outscore the Brigade at each position. This game was well and truly decided by Sunday lunchtime, to the point it was a matter of how wide the divide would be. Guns of Hochuli account for the Banter Brigade 127 - 105.

Our third game of the weekend was a shock upset. Traditional divisional rivals, the Who Dat Nation Rises boarded a plane and flew to merry old England where they were hosted by the Helmand Nighthawks. With bad weather everywhere, including the Nighthawks hallowed turf, Wembley, the first players on Thursday night didn't score a lot of points. The line on the game had the Nighthawks favored by 15 points but that vanished in the polar vortex of Christmas Eve as the Nation Joe Burrow (QB) and Tee Higgins (WR) combined for almost 70 points. These are not two teams to be taken lightly though as the Nighthawks dug in. The colossal failure of the Nighthawks entire receiving corp who only scored 21 points doomed the Nighthawks, to the point that even before the end of the game, Coach Fuel For Blood was making reservations got the Torpedo Bowl. The Nighthawks were relying on Austin Eckler (RB) on Monday night but the game was just too big. In a statement performance, and a warning to the league, the Who Dat Nation Rises dispose of the Helmand Nighthawks from the Torpedo Bowl, with a convincing 185 - 96 win.

In Australia, on a hot 35 Celsius Christmas Day weekend, the Taipans welcomed the Drunk Monkeys to town. In the Taipans first year winning the regular season, you would think they might start out as favorites, but as we have chronicled year after year, the Drunk Monkeys are the best damm team that doesn't show up - and this year they had the chance to thieve a Torpedo Bowl appearance by phoning it in. The Drunk Monkeys started less than a point favorites after some change in personnel by the Taipans. That change in personnel did nothing on Thursday night and Coach Pioneer tweeted "Ut Oh". The Monkeys came to play, with Justin Jefferson (WR) annihilating the Taipans as they did in the Week One victory. This game went back and forth with the lead changing seven times on Saturday alone. The Monkeys made one error, which may haunt them, by starting the Broncos (DEF) who recorded a -4 score, taking points off the board. On Monday night the Taipans held a slender lead, with the final score predicted to be a line call. Could the Monkeys upset the entire league and knock off the regular season champions? A slow start by both Justin Herbert (QB) for the Monkeys and Keenan Allen (WR) for the Taipans saw the shootout potential of this game get snuffed out before the quarter of the weekend. Despite the 3-1 player advantage on Monday night, the Taipans hold on and punch their ticket to the torpedo Bowl 16- - 120.

So with all games completed that leaves up one week to settle this season.

The Australian Taipans get a second home game to host the Torpedo Bowl and welcome the Who Dat Nation to the sub tropics. The Nation and the Taipans have split the regular series one game apiece.

The bronze medal game this year will be unfamiliar territory for the Helmand Nighthawks as they welcome the Drunk Monkeys to town. The Nighthawks, after getting off to a surprisingly uncharacteristic slow start to the regular season, found themselves short on one game, relegating them to a second home game at Wembley. The Nighthawks only played the Drunk Monkeys one time this year and were 30 point losers. After their shock exit from the Torpedo Bowl, Mister Chris is not going to let the Monkeys swing freely through his stadium.

In the Consolation Series, the Boss team gets their second post season home game in the debut year, as they host the Guns of Hochuli. These two teams split the regular season games 1-1 with lopsided victories to each team. This will be a great show of strength for the Bosses who in their first year will be meeting a former Torpedo Bowl Champion.

The other Consolation Series game sees the other expansion team from England, the Banter Brigade, getting their first post season home field game. Now, with the Banter sharing their field with the premier league, this game has been flexed a short distance away to Manchester. The Banter Brigade only meet once in the regular season with the Banter getting the best of the Black Cats.

One week to go folks, it all comes down to next week.

But this week, and every week week, (including the week where our post vanished) the Associated Subsim Writers (ASW) will nominated their Most Valuable Torpedo (MVT) of the week, the single player who proved decisive in their teams performance.

Hard to look past a performance that carries your team from the jaws of defeat to an appearance in the Torpedo Bowl. For the effort of 13 receptions for 109 yards and 2 touchdowns, for a total of 41.90 points, the Week Sixteen MVT goes to T.J. Hockenson (TE) of the Who Dat Nation Rises.

COMMISSIONER CALLS AN END TO THE SEASON
Who Dat Wins Torpedo Bowl

Week Seventeen....and a half, in the Subsim Fantasy Football League.

Wow. We'll go straight to the Press Conference where we're expecting the Commissioner to issue a statement as the Subsim.com Fantasy Football ends prematurely. We'll take you to the conference after this message.

Straight to the press conference where the Commissioner is about to speak...

Good evening. In the years of being Commissioner, I've never had to make a decision on any issue before. Understandably, this being the first, it is the most important for the precedent that it sets for the league going forward.

On Monday night, a player injury affected the outcome of games in the Subsim.com league. In the hours that followed, while the player was receiving the best care possible, the league had to receive the best care possible given the circumstances. As Commissioner, that care has to come from me. The decision was made without regard to the games it affected, and having made the decision, I'll address the games it effects. And here it is.

The points score as at the ending of Monday Night stand. The Subsim.com Fantasy Football League will not come back and finish the game, replay the game, or cancel the game. Much like our motor racing comparatives do, the games were called early. As a result, the Who Dat Nation Rises are the 2022 Torpedo Bowl Champions. Congratulations Coach Fuel for Blood.

Three other teams are affected by this decision, and I'll start with the Guns of Hochuli. The history of the Gunners in this league has been nothing but exceptional sportsmanship, and we trust that standard will continue. We understand that ending the game may have cost you the win. For the other two teams, there will be other games.

No questions will be taken, the time is now right to celebrate the Torpedo Bowl Champions, the Who Dat Nation Rises. This is the end of the press conference.

Wow! The Commissioner just called the season. Lets have a look at the games it didn't affect, and then deal with the games that it did.

For the Bronze medal, the Helmand Nighthawks were hosting the Drunk Monkeys at Wembley. The Monkeys continue to defy expectations and probability as they continue to march through the season rudderless ro reach the Consolation Final. the Helmand Nighthawks were having none of this "no you see me no you don't" attendance and put waste to the Nighthawks in a manner befitting the Nighthawks. The Nighthawks were unexpectedly defeated int he previous week and were not going to be denied at least one of the medals. With Patrick Mahonnes (QB) and Austin Eckler (RB) each scoring 38 points, this one wasn't even close. The Helmand Nighthawks easily account for the Drunk Monkeys int he biggest blow out of the week 166 - 103.

Also in England, one of this years expansion Banter Brigade welcomed the Black Cats to town, albeit at a venue not the home turf to either team. With the three English teams all advancing with home games this games was moved, much to the demise of the Brigade. the Black Cats came to play, and play they did, even with two players staying home in the USA and not making the trip. The Brigade put in an outstanding performance, but the Black cats just had too many weapons to keep them from victory. It wasn't that close, as the Black Cats storm home over the Banter brigade 154 - 136.

And now we get to the two games affected by the Commissioners decision. Lets start with the game most affected by the decision, the Boss team hosting the Guns of Hochuli. The Bosses were hosting their first play off game, but their opponent the Gunners is no pushover, a former Torpedo Bowl winner. The Gunners trailed the Boss team most of the weekend by a small margin, so by the time Stefan Diggs (WR) and Ja mare Chase (RB) took to the field Monday night, it was a formality that the Gunners would overcome the twelve point deficit. With the game abruptly stopped, and the subsequent decision by the Commission to call the game, and not return at a later date, left the Guns of Hochuli hanging - and more importantly short of the mark. The Boss team win their first play off game defeating the Gunners in a shortened match, 122 - 110.

And now the Torpedo Bowl. This was a game that reeked of shoot out but became a low scoring disaster for both teams. The Australian Taipans were hosting their first Torpedo Bowl and welcomed the Who Dat Nation Rises, who having defeated the Helmand Nighthawks the week before, continued the longest road trip int he history of the league. Both the Nation and the Taipans underwhelming scored before reaching Monday night, where both teams had two players each. While the points differently was 21 points, this game was going to be decided by who scored last...and it was the Nation. They were the first team to score with a touchdown to Joe Burrow (QB) before the game was stopped. With the Commissioners decision not to return to this game, the Who Dat Nation Rises cap an impressive comeback against unimaginable odds, to win the Torpedo Bowl 110 - 81.

Congratulations to the Who Dat Nation Rises.

We'll be back tomorrow once all the votes have been tallied to give you our All Star Team for the year, but before we leave this week, we have one more thing to do.

Each week (including the week where our post vanished) the Associated Subsim Writers (ASW) will nominated their Most Valuable Torpedo (MVT) of the week, the single player who proved decisive in their teams performance.

Our winner this week comes out of the 7th place game. For the effort of 10 receptions for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns, for a total of 54.70 points, the Week Seventeen MVT goes to Mike Evans (WR) of the Black Cats.

ALL STAR TEAM NAMED
Was There Any Doubt Who'd be Honored?

It's the day after the final publication of the year and a time when the Subsim.com league picks their All Star team. Some sports have a probowl, some sports have an all star event - the Subsim.com selected the best fantasy players in their position and an honoree to carry their name.

The procedure is that all the Associated Subsim Writers (ASW) select an honoree and submit their name to a pool. All the ASW's then vote, eliminating the honoree with the lowest number of votes, until there is only one. This year, in a first, all the ASW's selected the same honoree.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Subsim.com Fantasy Football League is honored to present this years All Star team, appropriately named after, perhaps the greatest icon of the past century. I had the honor once to meet this years honoree, and talk with them. It was a honor, to serve you, Maam. Without further ado, this years All Star Team are the Queen Elizabeth Monarch.

QB - Patrick Mahonnes (Helmand Nighthawks)

WR - Justin Jefferson (Drunk Monkeys) Tyreek Hill (Guns of Hochuli) Devante Adams (Black Cats)

RB - Austin Eckler (Helmand Nighthawks) Christian McCafferty (Who Dat Nation Rises)

TE - Travis Kelce (Boss Team)

K - Brett Maher (Helmand Nighthawks)

DEF - Dallas (Australian Taipans)

BENCH - Josh Allen (Australian Taipans), Stefon Diggs (Guns of Hochuli) Josh Jacobs (Australian Taipans) Mark Andrew (Banter Brigade) Justin Tucker (Boss Team) New England (Drunk Monkeys)

That's a wrap for the year folks. We'll see you back here around July 4th when we announce the next season. Till then, may all your fantasy players score big.
