radar Koninklijke Marine - De Ruyter light cruiser - 2024 edition

Hi everyone,

i'm glad to release this new mod; De Ruyter light cruiser:

D\L link:https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/dow...o=file&id=6492

This is the first unit for Koninklijke Marine, reworked in collaboration with flush deck.

Pack include a multiskin unit based on De Ruyter light cruiser (three skins included, base gray and two camo scheme).

Based on Miner1436 model, guns from The_Frog, details from SHV(portholes, stairs, cables, lifeboats, glass windows\interiors, turning radars\rangefinders...).

CREDITS

Thanks to Miner1436 for the original DeRuyter model, and to The_Frog for guns_NL library.
Special thanks to flush deck for new fantastic textures, for ship and library also!
Thanks to Sphere, who give me permissions to include and modify his searchlights mod (please read original readme included).
Thanks also to Anvar1061 for some suggestions about those searchlights and about optimize .eqp files.

-----------------------------------

This mod replace all previous versions =)

Best regards,
Vd

Wow, a great ship with a tragic history - well modeled by Von Dos! The weathering adds just the right touch of realism to her hull - in my opinion it's as good as many of the best plastic model kits you see on sites like modelwarships.

She was a formidable cruiser, and in my opinion with a little better luck and experience she could have inflicted quite a few losses on the Japanese.

Fun fact: the De Ruyter has a cameo appearance in "The Cay" - Theodore Taylor's famed anti-racism novel. De Ruyter and several allied destroyers are sent to protect shipping in the Caribbean, but the main character's merchant ship is sunk anyway (at which point he befriends Timothy, the black Dutch-Antillean sailor). In this fictional timeline, she apparently survives the war, since she is out of the Java Sea and that fateful battle in 1942.

Looking forward to even more ships by you in the future!
