I was attacking a convoy when these two ships got bungled up with each other. I hit and disabled one and the other just sat there as it rammed into the other. I heard the sound that ships make when they hit bottom and followed the noise with the external cam to see what all the commotion was. I found the one ship landing on top of the other.

Man, you just can't beat the the RFB/PE3 combo. (Images resized to 800x600).
Medium freighter split in half in Kiska Bay:  Bow shot on a modern freighter off Kyushu in heavy seas:  Same freighter plunging and leaving debris and oil slick:  Now, if I could just get the trees off the Aleutian Islands....

I recently started yet another new career on Dec. 8, 1941 at Manila (USS Skipjack). My orders were to drop an agent off... on Manila. Why didn't he just drive? Would have got there a LOT faster!
  But he insisted on the slow way...   After dropping him off I sent a status report to get new orders that were farther than 19nm away.  For some reason I just like this shot.  I like this night one, too.

The Asashio (in the foreground) had the misfortune of running down the starboard side of the medium freighter in the background. The net effect was taking one of the two torps I intended for the freighter... Her momentum carried her quite a distance while she broke apart.
Two for one...  Got held down by two destroyers... One pinging, the other laying down the ashcans... The Waiting Game...
