Default OpMonsun Patrol Zones

Can anyone direct me to a game file where the Patrol Zones are defined?
i am referring the the alphanumeric codes for example CJ79 or CP87.
i suspect there is a dotMIS file somewhere where these coordinates are defined and can be viewed with SH4 Mission Editor.

yep. that would appear to be them.
thank you.

now trying to translate them....
CG 1975 562 2100 664
CH 2100 562 2230 664
CJ 2230 537 2360 630

the second and fourth values appear to be longitude values so what are the third and fifth values? they CANNOT be latitudes....so they must be some sort of distance or range parameter about which i have not yet discovered....yet.

my goal was to try and get the mission symbol closer to the middle of the actual patrol zone.

One thing to remember about the missions, is that any MapLocation and MapZone used is going to be a circle of a given circumference in km... There is an O_PatrolMarker.dds used to "draw" the circle in TMO and FotRSU. Most mods don't use that, but rather rely upon the skipper's explicit remembrance of his initial orders. The grid is there for "authenticity" and "immersion", but isn't really accurate. Never has been...

so, if i understand you correctly, pb, the Star or the Pennant is the middle of the patrol area, NOT the alphanumeric zone designation, such as CH7555 for zone CH75?

i thought i read somewhere in this forum that the zone took priority over the Star/Pennant.

ok, if that is the case, then i'll just drop it.
jawohl, mein herr.
(i'm getting ready for our trip to Germany next week.

The "Star" sits in the dead-center of the MapZone used to designate the patrol. It will use the longitude and latitude coordinates in the MIS file for that particular MapZone. However, the grid itself is off... Now, if you want to, you could go into the missions and move the MapZone, which would thereby move the "Star", but how far to move it?... There are several posts on here (couldn't find them just now), where folks discuss the problem with the grid. Since I haven't done the Uboats very deeply (I do have OM / OMEGU installed and use it about once a month), I don't worry too much about it. I generally will sit right by the star for the required time frame, and then go off and do what I want...
