Default Crash dive at periscope depth, big problem!!

I got my self in a jam with a convoy and found that my ship was about to be rammed (by a ship that should have been sunk anyway.) I torpedoed this ship and I had my concentration on firing on a couple more at periscope depth so, after I fired a couple more eels I look to starboard and this ship is bearing down on us. I ordered a crash dive (I'm already at periscope depth) and I hear "ALARM" all the stuff I should hear exept that we surface instead of diving!!!! What the heck!!! Well, I'm not taking this one as a Dead is Dead loss. I tried it again later after going back and playing the last two hrs again. It does it repeatedly
With the currant mod set, at periscope depth, the ship will surface if I order crash dive.
When did this start??
I am using the latest TDW UI 7.2 and the latest patcher.
I am playing stock, but before I post my list,... Does anybody elses do this??
Go to periscope depth and order a crash dive. It used to crash dive.
(I'm pretty sure anyway).
Thoughts??

I can't let this one get buried. I tried it again, and if I'm at periscope depth, I can't crash dive. The boat surfaces! Albeit, it was exiting getting my conning tower torn off and the screen of demise, if we had crash dived like the order was given, the boat may have been saved. Can I get a witness?
Has anyone else tried this recently??
Thanks.

I rarely use the crash dive order but gave it a try as you said with stock just out of curiosity. Worked fine.

Well, I found the workaround at least.
When I order crash dive, I use the C key on the keyboard. What has evidently happened is, over the course of installing MCCD, the new UI and others that change the keyboard commands, using the 'C' key to crash dive is a risk. The 'C' key works fine if I'm on the surface. Why it surfaces the boat at periscope depth is beyond me at this point.
The workaround is just to use the 'Crash dive button' on the HUD. This will crash dive the boat while submerged. I was very preoccupied with the keys because I use them quite a bit instead of always mousing around.
Troopie, I don't know if you used the 'C' key or not, and if you are using some of the same mods. All these things may be required to get this error, but try using the 'C' key while you're at periscope depth and see what happens (if you didn't use the C key.
Danke und Gute Jagd Kamerad.

Also you can change the hot keys in the OptionsFileEditorViewer...

Well, quick test with all mods off and 'c' key is unassigned. Stock 'crash dive' hotkey is 'shift + V'.

Hud and hotkey work the same.

Def. a mod issue.

...the crash dive command is a bit missleading, it should be usead as "Alarm Tauchen" from surface only.

btw, the "Dive" command ("D"-key) work for dangerous situations also well, except that you have to set your engine rpm manualy.
