TYPHOON CLASS SSBN

This is the bottom aft end of submarine Omsk a Project 949A Antey class SSGN known to the west as Oscar II

This is the Project 941 Akula SSBN she is the largest submarine in the world with a displacement of 48,000tons submerged, this typhoon is TK17 and is now laid up pending disposal, today only TK208 is currently in service used as a test platform this is due to be retired in 2014.

Project 971 Schuka B or Akula to the west she is the follow on to the victor III and the compliment to the Sierra class, all but 4 are currently active in both fleets due to be replaced by the new yasen class by 2020
