The price and cost of putting something like this together wasn't mentioned in the video. I believe he mentioned 3D printing. If someone has access to equipment like that, It may not be cost prohibitive. As with most things like you said, it is more for the individuals that are willing to pay for more realistic simulation experiences.

Not mentioned in the video but I'm sure, with high realism, this could be an effective flight trainer as well. We have people here in Subsim that fly. They might have a better Idea how well this setup could work as a trainer.

By the way, Catfish. How do you like Rise of Flight online, and with IL2 Great Battles offline ?

re "Rise of Flight" online I like it a lot, there's no comparison to fly against an AI enemy compared to a human being who knows his stuff.
But i am still flying the first original version of RoF, there are now the "Flying Circus" variants which you have to pay for again, with 3d view and refined flight and damage model. Maybe try this out later, too few time at the moment.
Great battles is indeed great, but i am still learning all those buttons and camera views, and especially the JU 88 can be a real beast to fly.

it worries me a bit that there only seems to be one russian company which does state of the art historical flight sims. Ok there's DCS but it is not as developed when it comes to the surrounding history and variety of aircraft types.
The russian developers did and do a great job, however of course any "political" or let's better say "critical" comment on what Putin does now is VERBOTEN and leads to instant ban. On one hand i can understand this, on the other hand i am not longer willing to pay any russian company right now..
