Help installing 4gb patch on SH IV with Uboat expansion

I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong area (can't seem to find a sub forum for technical help like this), but I can't install the SH IV 4gb patch. It keeps saying:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\sh4.exe: unknown version".

I have no mods installed, Windows 7 on an HP Dv7-6195us Laptop (Core i7 2630 QM @2ghz, 8gb of ram, and an AMD Radeon HD 6770M GPU).

I've been pulling my hair out over this for the past week, searching online trying to find an answer. I could only find things about a patch for SHIII, not SHIV.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

That's exactly where I got it from, and that's how I was trying to install it. Anything else I can try?

You don't "install" it, you execute it. It is an executable. When you run it you select the SH.exe file you want to make 3GB executable.

By executing a file, you install something, but yes, that's what I did. Let me post some screens for ya, step by step, of what I did.

You shouldn't have that problem if your installing from a disk, I installed mine fine without problems and play it in no time

Does anyone know how to fix this? Idk what happen but everytime I start a career with S-18 and S-42 my game suddenly crashed at loading page.

Any details on your set-up? Where did you get the game from? What is the full path of the folder do you have the game installed in? Did you add any mods? etc... ?? btw - Piggybacking in a thread on the 4 gig patch is a good way to "hide" your post. You would be better served with a new thread of your own. Look for the "new topic" button near the upper-left of the screen next time you go to ask a new question. For now though, just let us some details.
