The song also became one of the earliest instances of the many occasions when LZ have been sued for plagiarism; the song LZ chose to jam to was actually an old Richie Valens composition titled Ooh! My Head...





Richie Valens died, at age 17, in the same plane crash that climed the lives of Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper; when the LZ version of the song came out, it was fully credited as an original composition by LZ with no mention of Valens being the original composer, so all royalties and publishing went to LZ; someone alerted the mother of Richie Valens about the stealing of her son's song and she sought legal assistance and succeeded in get the credits changed and royalties reassessed...
