If you compare your original with his file and the changes are what i described, then you installed the new xml in the wrong location and therefore the mod doesn't use ist.
What did you do after you downloaded the file?

e: Maybe just upload your file, i will do the changes then.

Put this file into the following directory:

c:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\Sound\Speech\

Then it should work.

I also found a slight bug: with TDW UI if you are standing on the dek (surfaced) and will command to Crush Dive the boat does go into the crush dive mode, going to the Flank Speed and the commands in the Message section are flying. You even get teleported to the Hydrophone station.

But the sub does not actually dive, it stays surfaced.

What happens if you press the crash dive button vice use the voice command?

works as intended, to my knowledge and memory, but I'll re-test it as soon as I get home today.

Not this mod, as it relies on the speech recognition built into Win7 and Win Vista. XP never got that feature and therefore noone can run this mod without at least Win Vista.

I am sorry.

But there are other ways to get a speech recognition. Maybe you can have a look here.

hmmm... Looks like I'll have to figure out a way to see if I can install win xp somewhere and test this.

Could you please let me know what exactly it stated at the bottom of that window? Which location the speach engine could not be found at?
