It's self-deception to put Hi res textures in a tex folder. This is what actually happens when textures are placed in place.

For example

...It's self-deception?...

Self-deception lies in the fact that the date file at first glance has an acceptable size of 10 Mb, but in fact it is many times larger. If the texture is used in different ships, like Razlom.tga, then it is advisable to put it in the Textures folder. The others are not. The extreme models I just "hang" even with the minimum size .tga. They don't load stupidly.

Just a question: will you put some platforms\guns, and\or liferafts on it?

Best regards, and thanks!

1 - 107.000 triangles.
2 - Maybe in the future.

That, sounds to make sense...it would make more sense for the ships to have a controller, that would (& could, at that...) randomly choose from a multitude of different skins for more than 1 call for that particular ship... especially in a convoy, call triggered situation. (Same scenario, for... warships, as well... though that more in line with ships in a countries roster... as not all would share ships much across the spectrum... except maybe for some DD's/DE's... as in the case of U.S-Brit lend lease that did occur between themselves... with escort ships, from the U.S., to offset round out, the convoy system that was put into motion from the British admiralty, to counter the U-boat threat... but... I diverse.

1 ship model, a roster list for countries that would have used said ship... with a multitude of different skins to reflect different paint schemes, based on the time frame. That, sort of layout call, for the ship model... correct Me, if I am wrong... would & should also work with say... different parts/equipment calls, as well... I would imagine.
