I do not have that but I can look in the "attic".

However, if you cannot make it smooth on Steam exe with dgvoodoo2 then gunship_HiD_v1.exe may make the situation even worse because _HiD means that distance LODs are disabled here and you should see farther down. But performance could suffer.

I think I need to check carefully how that voodoo program works and see why it doesn't work properly on my install.

Unfortunately, that is something to do with the Steam version. I have read somewhere that it crashes. Will try to find the details.

It is the shame as it looks like only me and you left remotely interested in GS.

I guess RIP to GS!

The GoG version works well, I remembered that I got that long ago and I'm now back to GS!

Since you persisted here is your reward (possible)gunship_HiD_v1 .

Tell me if you see any difference.

For good Gunship! gameplay, good HOTAS configuration helps a lot.
The most important in my opinion are Pilot Up and Pilot Down when playing as the gunner and hiding behind the tree lines. In my opinion, those 2 key bindings could have had a little smaller range than they have.

Also would like to have audio of early missile warnings instead of that "pop" sound. All those goodies could have been maybe implemented by modding. They would improve the gameplay significantly.

The newly reborn Microprose is remastering a bunch of the old titles, including the B-17 titles. Their new titles are very good. I especially like, "Regiments". I'd definitely recommend it.

Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll decide to remaster, "Gunship!" and, "M1 Tank Platoon II" for us. I spent a lot of time with those titles back when they were current. Perhaps, "Silent Service" will get remastered as well.

Glad you are running it OK and I am not so sure about 2nd question.
If you are asking if GSTOS was officially put to download the answer is yes. It is on Simwarrior.com and requires some dancing around with M8, IIRC.
