What's wrong with where you are, now?
SubSim is one of the liveliest naval discussion fora you can find.

What tips do you seek?
For what kind of scenarios are you looking? I probably have as comprehensive a collection as anyone.

Tips on creating scenarios with the scenario editor.
I look for scenarios that cover real life, current Events. Like Flight Commander II does!

I did find my copy of James De Goey's Harpoon Battlebook By Prima! I paid $3.99 for it!

DeGoey's is very good for learning the basic mechanics of the scenario editor.

For real life/modern scenarios, the various datasets are limited in their selection of platforms. Most of them cover the Cold War era or 2003. There was one made by players for more recent times, but they are third-party users and it is not an official publisher release. IIRC, there were some structural changes and I think that you need to use an unofficial beta version of the game to make it run. I will not play anything, except official releases. YMMV

I don't use social media accounts like Skype Or Facebook! I think regular email is safer! I read an account that Tom Clancy said using his books for Harpoon Scenario sources was okay! He owns both versions of Harpoon!
I look for software that have scenario editors like Silent Hunter 1 and Harpoon!
The software lasts longer !

I don't think Clancy used the computer versions of Harpoon for his books, since the games only released after his books did. He used the paper/miniature rules.

Do you use Steam? e-mail may be more secure, but nothing beats the clarity of verbal communication, such as Skype or Steam

You can waste hours chasing one-another with e-mail when a 10-second chat answers the question.
