Default Confused about mission

Wolves of Steel mod; On my first patrol after Baltic Operations.

My orders are to patrol AN7936. OK, fine. But I see there are five operations listed as "ongoing" when I save the game:
Breaking the Fortress
Operation Wesserbung
SouthWestern Approaches
NorthWestern Approaches
Eastern British Coastal Waters

After my grid patrol, do I pick one of these based on the one that ends earliest? Or wait to have one assigned? I thought that "Eastern British Coastal" was next in the campaign flow chart and that I was to do that after my current patrol.

Yes pretty much so. Select mission at base. gives you best chance of doing them within time limit. As you progress the objective dates can be difficult to meet

One Theatre can have several missions, all these missions have an end date and can be done (multiple times) as long as the end date is not there yet. So every time you finish a mission, you go back to bunker, end patrol, make a bunker save, reload, do another mission. (that way your campaign change will not be messed up). Your results are kept in another file so will not be deleted when you delete your autosave_enter_base after you have made a bunker save directly after.

For instance: Mediterranean, play mission Malta supplies, select in bunker.
Do mission, return, end patrol. Save in bunker (Bunker_save_Malta_1) Load Bunker_save_Malta_1, select mission Breakthrough Gibraltar, play mission, return, end patrol, Save in bunker (Bunker save Breakthrough_Gibraltar_1), load that save and go on to select mission Tobruk, and so on. You can do that as many times as you want during the entire theatre campaign if the end date for a mission has not passed when you start that mission, just make sure you are out at sea and not in the vicinity of any ships during campaign change!! And keep that date also in mind during your game/missions since every time you end a patrol your crew goes on leave for a few weeks!!! (You can change the days in port (Leave) in KDS Commander) And use the mod change days in port via JGSME.

Also if you do a normal, inbetween save game during a mission, do not save when in the vicinity of any other ship or aircraft. [you need to be quite accurate with your naming of savegames!!!]

I basically delete every autosave_enter_base as soon as I have made a bunker save and started a new patrol mission. (you can do that during the mission at sea when you click on escape, save game, and in the bottom right you see a delete button).

So. Campaigns have end dates, missions have end dates. Mission end dates are only important for the Theatre Campaign result, Campaign end-date is important for campaign change and takes you to the new campaign in the campaign list. Be aware of every date!

Here is a list of everything in Sh5 TWOS (copied from a topic on subsim I cannot find anymore.... Thanks to whoever compiled it!)

WOW!! Fantastic answer! I wish I knew that after finishing Baltic Operations. I chose Eastern British Coastal Waters and I'll never make it back to the bunker before Breaking the Fortress reaches it's end date.

I may still have a manual bunker save when I finished Baltic... If I do, I'll abandon my present mission as it won't expire until December and start the other!
