Default Mod download into game

i found the answer here .. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=180046

Greetings all...

I am a newbie to mod downloading and having them work in the game.

I just downloaded the mod for silent hunter 5 that keeps the sub from breaking up in 30 feet of water and I need some help in what do i do with the 2 files in my express zip.

What do I do and where do the files go If i open them i see it is a data file. what now?

Much thanks in advance.

J

I dragged the installer into the silent hunter game folder and added these files to activate:

NSS_Uboat7a
NSS_Uboat7b
NSS_Uboat7c
NSS_Uboat7c41

After activating the above I tried diving past 30 meters and the boat still breaks up.

Should i be placing these files to be activated or the main file instead in : Depth_keeping_problem_UHS_patch_Hb_2_0_0_thedarkwr aith

Will this mod work for the sub we are given (the U30) at the beginning of the game?

Take the files out of wherever you put them.

Run JSGME.exe (it has to be in the same directory as the game) the first time - it will ask you where your "MOD" folder is - leave it as the default "MODS" unless you want it changed.

Exit the program

Copy the mods you extracted (they should be folders now) into the new "MODS" folder that JSGME created.

Run JSGME.exe again.

Now you should see the mods on the left side of the screen. Highlight one, click the right arrow button and it will you will see the mod in the right window now - that means its active/installed.

Now you can run the game - the mod will be loaded.

If it didn't load - make sure it extracted correctly. Often time there will be an "extra layer" of folders - so if you see the mod name, open the folder and see another folder with the same mod name and that is all - you need to copy "drilldown" folder over, not the top level one.
