It was confirmed to me that there is activity on the left bank however the extent of this is unknown at the moment.

There is rumours about the release of three settlements lets see.

There is also success in Svatove direction.

At some point it becomes a full retreat, every push forward causes too many problems for the Russians that they now can not solve and also can not solve in the coming months.

2 'dark ships' were spotted near the Nord Stream pipeline leaks days before the explosions were detected, satellite data analysis firm says

Two ships with their trackers turned off sailed near the leak sites of the Nord Stream 2 pipelines just days before the pipelines were ripped open by subsea explosions, a satellite data analysis firm says.

The vessels were both between 311 feet and 426 feet long, and had their automatic identification systems, or AIS trackers, switched off, said Jerry Javornicky, the cofounder of SpaceKnow, Wired's Matt Burgess reported.

"They had their beacons off, meaning that there was no information about their movement, and they were trying to keep their location information and general information hidden from the world," Javornicky told the outlet.

Javornicky said SpaceKnow found 25 ships passing through an area with a several-mile radius around the leak sites, Wired reported. Two of those vessels did not have their AIS data turned on, Javornicky said, per Wired.

The International Maritime Organization mandates that ships with cargo of 330 tons or more, as well as passenger ships of any size, have to turn on their AIS trackers on international voyages.

A ship switching off a transponder is often seen as a red flag, and such a practice is common for vessels engaged in illicit activities such as illegal fishing, human trafficking, and dodging sanctions. US authorities call it a deceptive shipping practice, and advise ports to be wary of ships that manipulate their trackers.

Otto Tabuns, the director of the NGO Baltic Security Foundation, told Wired that it's rare for a ship to turn off its AIS transmitter in the Baltic Sea unless the vessel had "clandestine objectives."

Javornicky's claims come as Western European nations continue to investigate the leaks in the Nord Stream pipelines, which make up the largest network supplying natural gas from Russia to Europe.

Several underwater explosions in late September ruptured the Nord Stream pipelines in the Baltic Sea, but it's still unclear what — or who — is responsible for the damage. Russia, Ukraine, the US, and the UK have all been accused of sabotage, though all have denied such allegations.

German officials said shortly after the leaks that they suspected the gas pipelines were sabotaged by Russia, while Denmark and Sweden said in a letter to the UN that they believed "several hundred kilos" of explosives were used to damage the pipes.

All three nations have kept their findings under wraps.

California Man Vows to Interrogate 'Western Scum' for Russia in Ukraine

An American barber based in Moscow has vowed to go to Ukraine's eastern Donbas region to assist Russian troops and interrogate U.S. and Western war captives.

Greg Rossell, who says he was previously based in California, said he would travel to the Donbas region in December as a volunteer in several posts shared on his social media accounts.

In an October 14 Instagram post, Rossell—who has also shared antisemitic posts on his social media accounts—appeared to relish in being able to confront American and Western soldiers.

He said: "I want to do anything I can to help our victory, I can also interrogate American and Western scum mercenaries fighting for Ukraine as we capture them and other scum.

"Send many American mercenaries, NATO mercenaries back to their countries in bags, glory to Russia, glory to Putin, and glory to all our Russian soldiers. Victory is coming."

Ukrainian special forces commander says Russia doesn't like waging war at night, so his troops need gear to fight in the dark

Russian President Vladimir Putin's troops don't like waging their war against Ukraine at night, according to a Ukrainian commander who said his country needs gear to effectively fight in the dark.

Ukraine's Special Operations Forces commander Brig. Gen. Viktor Khorenko said his troops need gear while appearing on an episode of the "War on the Rocks" podcast published on Monday.

"When we deal with Russia, we see that in its bulk, in its mass, Russian forces, they do not conduct combat operations at night," Khorenko told podcast host Ryan Evans. "So then we should fill that gap."

Ukraine has received weapons and resources worth billions of dollars from the United States and other Western nations since Russia invaded the eastern European country eight months ago.

But Khorenko said that Ukrainian troops could use advanced technology like night vision devices from the West to increase their night fighting capabilities.

"We should learn how to act at night more efficiently and do it, and for that, we need all the necessary materials, like night vision devices and other stuff," Khorenko said.

Since the beginning of the Kremlin's unprovoked war, "we've seen how technologically drones prevail over the battlefield, and we also have to develop that capability and to get some help from the West and our partners," said the commander.

He added, "The only way for us to prevail in this fight is to act with higher quality because we cannot act with quantity like Russia."

"That's why we have to be technologically advanced in order to win this war," said Khorenko.

In recent weeks, thousands of newly mobilized Russian reservists have been deployed to the battlefield as Moscow has suffered disastrous setbacks in the war.

And as the war drags on, the winter months are expected to "bring a change in conflict conditions" for both Russian and Ukrainian troops, British intelligence said on Monday.

"Changes to daylight hours, temperature and weather will present unique challenges for fighting soldiers," the UK's Ministry of Defense said in a daily intelligence update.

As daylight shrinks to less than nine hours a day — down from the 15 to 16 hours of daylight in the height of summer — there will be "fewer offensives and more static defensive frontlines" in Ukraine, the UK's Ministry of Defense said.

"Night vision capability is a precious commodity, further exacerbating the unwillingness to fight at night," British intelligence noted.

The British ex-fighter pilots recruited via alibi proxyies to improve Chinese pilots'S understanding of Western air tactics and air operation - that is a much greater concern. I hope the government already has started to enforce an end this kind of "engagement".

If needed: by "accidents".

This must stop, at all cost.

As far as I'm aware the ex-pilots concerned were trained in older generation aircraft types and the newer generation aircraft brought about with it newer and improved tactics.

It is a little concerning nevertheless.

Russian anger as UN calls for reparations over invasion of Ukraine

By Elsa Maishman
BBC News

Russia has angrily rejected international calls for it to pay for war damage it has inflicted in Ukraine.

It comes after the UN General Assembly passed a resolution saying Russia should face the consequences of its actions, including paying reparations.

General Assembly resolutions carry symbolic weight, but do not have the power to enforce compliance.

The Kremlin said it would work to stop the West seizing its international reserves to pay for reparations.

Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov accused the West of attempting to "formalise robbery" and violate the rules of private property and international law.

The resolution said that Russia "must bear the legal consequences of all of its internationally wrongful acts, including making reparation for the injury, including any damage, caused by such acts".

It also recommends that member states, in collaboration with Ukraine, create an international register to record evidence and claims against Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the resolution, saying that reparations paid by Russia are now "part of the international legal reality".

Ahead of the vote, Kyiv's UN Ambassador Sergiy Kyslytsya told the assembly that Russia had targeted everything from factories to residential buildings and hospitals in the war.

In addition to needing finance to rebuild infrastructure, he said that recovery "will never be complete without a sense of justice for the victims of the Russian war", adding: "It is time to hold Russia accountable."

Russian Ambassador to the UN Vassily Nebenzia labelled the resolution "legally null and void", and accused the West of "trying to draw out and worsen the conflict".

The resolution was supported by 94 out of 193 member states, while 14 - including Russia, China and Iran - voted against it. The remaining countries all abstained.

By contrast, 143 member states voted in October to condemn Moscow's illegal annexation of parts of Ukraine.

There have been previous examples of countries being ordered to pay reparations after conflicts.

The most famous is the 269bn marks that Germany was told to pay by the allies after World War One - around $300bn (£250bn) in today's money.

The high price was intended to ensure that Germany would not be capable of more war for many years.

But it ended up having the opposite effect, as many historians argue the crippling reparations and labelling of Germany as the "guilty" party in the war were a key driver of resentment that led to World War Two.

Germany and other axis powers were also forced to pay reparations after that conflict, but with a greater emphasis on rebuilding damaged infrastructure in Europe than on punishing Germany for its actions.

Zelensky snubs Russia as he addresses 'G19' at G20

By Tessa Wong
BBC News in Bali

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on "G19" world leaders to end the Russian invasion, in a pointed snub to Moscow at the G20 summit.

Mr Zelensky appeared in a video speech beamed to leaders gathered for the summit in Bali, Indonesia.

Russia is a G20 member but President Putin is not in Bali, sending his foreign minister Sergei Lavrov instead.

Mr Zelensky also pleaded for an extension of a Ukrainian grain export deal due to expire soon.

In his speech, Mr Zelensky said: "I am convinced now is the time when the Russian destructive war must and can be stopped."

He outlined a number of strategies, including ensuring nuclear and food safety, the ending of hostilities, and a prevention of escalation.

He repeatedly addressed the leaders as the "G19", excluding Russia.

Chief among his requests was an extension of what is known as the Black Sea Grain Initiative which was struck in July between the United Nations and Russia.

It ensured that food exports blocked at Ukrainian ports by Russian warships could be shipped out.

The UN says since the deal began, 10 million tonnes of grain and other food have been exported, preventing a global food crisis.

But the deal expires on 19 November. Mr Zelensky said the deal should be extended indefinitely, "no matter when the war ends".

"The right to food is a fundamental right of every person in the world," he said, proposing to expand the deal to other ports in the Mykolaiv region.

Russia said on Saturday that there had yet to be any agreement to extend the deal.

In return for allowing Ukraine to ship out food, it has insisted that Western sanctions be lifted so Russia can export its own food and fertilisers to world markets without hindrance.

Mr Zelensky also accused Russia of trying to "turn the cold into a weapon against millions of people" by bombing key Ukrainian energy infrastructure as winter approaches.

He asked for additional military assistance from Ukraine's allies, and price restrictions on Russian energy exports such that Russia cannot profit from them.

"If Russia is trying to deprive Ukraine, Europe and all energy consumers in the world of predictability and price stability, the answer to this should be a forced limitation of export prices for Russia…

"That's fair. If you take something away, the world has the right to take from you," he said.

Russia has shut off its Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline to Europe, while the opening of a second pipe has been stopped by the West.

Elsewhere in his speech Mr Zelensky - who had just returned from the recaptured Ukrainian city of Kherson - likened its liberation to "D-Day, the landing of the Allies in Normandy" during World War Two.

"It was not yet a final point in the fight against evil, but it already determined the entire further course of events. This is exactly what we are feeling now," he said.

Later in the day, Mr Lavrov gave a news conference to Russian media, where he blamed Ukraine for hampering settlement with Russia.

He accused Ukraine of "categorically refusing negotiations and putting forward conditions that are obviously unrealistic".

When asked about whether he had secured support from any countries at the G20 summit, he said "no one except the West and its closest satellites has joined anti-Russian sanctions".

The Ukraine war cast a long shadow over the first day of the G20 leaders' summit, featuring as a theme in several meetings.

In a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, French President Emmanuel Macron stressed the conflict "must be overcome by close coordination between France and China".

A readout from the French side said the two countries respect the "territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine" and Mr Xi "gave his support" to Mr Macron's peace efforts.

In contrast, a readout from the Chinese side released to state media did not mention Ukraine at all. It made a vague reference to the conflict by acknowledging the world was entering "a new period of turmoil and change".

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also spoke directly to Mr Lavrov in his opening remarks at the summit - the first time a British leader has confronted a senior Russian figure face to face since the war began.

He said the "Putin regime…has stifled domestic dissent and fabricated a veneer of validity only through violence" and is hearing "a chorus of global opposition to its actions".

British Ambassador Melinda Simmons believes that there may not be a pause in the war against Russia due to weather conditions.

She announced this on Twitter, Censor.NET informs.

"Winter may complicate the fight, but I'm not sure that it will mean a pause. We'll see, but Ukraine has made a lot of progress, successfully, and they know how to fight in winter if necessary. They have 8 years of experience," the diplomat emphasized. Source: https://censor.net/en/n3380654
