Default RN fire control WW2

I know the RN used a computer nick named the Fruit Machine to calculate firing solutions but am not sure if gyro angles could be set on the torpedoes as with American torpedoes or whether the sub had to be aimed in the direction of the required torpedo track. I have been getting conflicting info thus far Would appreciate any comments

Regards

Hi,

Here's an article about ww2 RN sub attack procedure, there is "fruit machine" section about 1/3 down, it may have the info you require (i haven't read it, i'm in a rush to go out drinking!)

Opps! forgot the link

Since I don't know what research you've done I hope this is not redundant:
