Default It is Official! I HATE Lifeguard Duty!

I keep going to where the Blue Survivors are on the map.

NADA Nothing.

In saying that the 1st 24 hours the weather sucked!

Waited it out till it cleared enough to see.

Went to survivor location and saw a dye or flare or something in red or pink.

Went fast as could towards it and it disappeared after a while.

Went to another survivor on the map NADA!

I have tried to go back to this mission time and time again.

Each time I get to the Survivor area nothing is there.

Do they move by chance.

I always get to the area and scan the horizon with binoculars for Dye.

Loaded Saved game from just starting in the mission area.

Chased 10 survivors blue ones on the map.

Bad weather but I am within feet of them not yards according to the map.

Nothing at each one.

The blue markers are everywhere as well.

Chase a group of 3 always turned into 1 when getting closer.

Getting the feeling it is bugged!

If you are using any mods, post with your JSGME list. If you are in Stock, you should be able to find them OK. The missions can be difficult, and it can be difficult to "see" the pilots in the water, sometimes centered on the blinding red flare dye... a couple of things though. First, you cannot use time compression when around the pilots. For whatever reason, the game moves the pilots away from you faster, the faster you go in TC. Second, you have to slow down, and practically stop to affect pickup. Third, you have to be within roughly 500 yards to affect pickup, AND the crew has to give you a text / vocal prompt that they see the survivor. Fourth, you have to use the full Bridge menu, AND you have to use the binoculars to "target" the survivor, and hit the life-ring menu button at the proper time, which can be very difficult if the boat is pitching much... Also, note that sometimes those little blue squares are old reports, and not the actual pilot in the water. You have to zoom way in to see the pilot icons... Still though, I do not think there are too many people that much care for lifeguard duty, just as it was in real life. But rescue a few, and you might change your mind... lol

Yeah, you might have to turn, get closer, or get farther away, or approach from a different angle... pia.
