It is very nice that we have got a nice manual which explains
everything in the game.

When experienced people have troubles with sh5 what about
beginners

Just posting in case its of use to someone eles. I had an issue where after the training mission I docked at Kiel, talked to the officer who showed me the mission brief.
At the end of the brief no mission objectives showed up E.g there was no Mission for sink 50K tonnage of the south of England or the 100K of the southwest England passage.
The only way to resolve it was to restart a new campaign. Then you have an option to skip training. The missions now show up.

I must be a DOUBLE pirate then. I bought the Steam version - and SH3 & SH4 - AND I bought the non-Steam version and STILL could see a mission on the map after parking safely back at Kiel. Until I realised it was a common thing - thanks to the guys in here.

Little wonder Noobs are reluctant to buy titles that have a steep learning curve, when they're up against attitudes like yours.

Even twelve years later, still not cool.
