I know it from own experience-Been bitten two times.

I've been bitten thousands of times by our cats over the years, my arms are full of scabs!! I think you will find that you are safe with kittens, too young to hunt for rats etc!

But - if in doubt!!

So what was the vector? I got blood poisoning once from getting bursitis elbow by a staff infection of an elbow rug burn.
