Yes. Go back and read posts #9 and #10. Open the appropriate UPC file with notepad or wordpad and tailor it to what you prefer.

Thx GreyBeard but I was helping Admiral Halsey with his question about it, didn't look at previous posts referring the same solution.
I looked into the Mod a while back and remembered that part so I posted it.

I changed both these lines in the submarine UPC file:

MaxPettyOfficers=XX ; max number of crewmembers over rank 4
MaxOfficers=XX ; max number of crewmembers over rank 7

And these lines in the ActiveUserPlayerUnits UPC file:

MaxOfficers=XX
MaxPettyOfficers=XX

And it still says I'm at the maximum number. Any ideas?

Besides the Data / UPCData... folders, they are repeated and saved in your Save folder in My Documents, though I don't remember which of the internals... Next career might have the changes...

After fiddling around with it for about 20 mins, I managed to get it working. My crew is well on its way to having all officers by the end of the war. It's only late December 1942 and I don't have a single person on my boat (U.S.S. Drum) below PO2.

The problem is, during the war they started a regular rotation off boat. At the end of every war patrol, I think it was something like 15% of your crew rotated off and brand new graduates from sub school were rotated in. This included sailors, PO's, CPO's, and Officers. We really need something like SHCommander to help us randomize this process to make it more realistic.

I fixed the rank problem...now if I could just figure out why my crew disappeared we'll be in good shape!

Well one must consider the universe of all possibilities:

I dismiss crew with 'Special Abilities' except the Officer I edited to give realistic surface & submerged speeds and ranges - similar to what TMO does. I also dismiss other crew but I don't think I do 15%.

Happy Hunting!
