Mannerheim gets a memorial plaque in St.Petersburg
Wow. I have to say I was not expecting that, considering how Mannerheim is seen as a controversial figure in Russia (from what I've heard).
Any of our Russian friends can translate what the plaque says? |

I'm impressed that it was put up at all, considering the history, but I see it didn't take long for Mannerheim to get vandalized with red paint. He seems to wear it rather stoically though.
