Default Can I save my career progress to a new computer?

Can I save my career progress to a new computer? If so, what files do I need to move to the new machine and where do I find them?

I purchased a new gaming computer tonight. Instead of starting all over, I’d like to keep progressing with my current career. Is there a specific file/folder I need to save and transfer to do this? If so, where do I find it. I use Silent Hunter III with the Grey Wolves mod. It’s a steam download but I created a dedicated folder for it.

I don't use my SH3 as much lately, but if you have JSGME, start it and run Tasks --> Export activated mod list to... --> Clipboard" so that you have that in a non-human-brain form. Make a hard copy of that (print it). If you are at Stock, no big deal.

The Save information, by default, is in the "C:\Users \UserName \Documents \SH3" folder. If you use MultiSH3, then you may have changed that. You might also have moved the Documents folder from the C: drive. In the path above, UserName would be your log-in name on the computer, and Documents might be listed as My Documents or other variations, depending upon the OS you use. The game mostly runs from that Save folder, but does use some information from the game install, of course...

The important part is to match the game folder to the save folder, and you should be alright. I don't play SH3 as much anymore, so hopefully, someone else will come along.

Copy over from <yourmaindrivename>documents/<yourgameinstallfoldersname>. Sometimes, "documents" is called "My documents".

Take the entire folder; it has all the career data.

I.e, mine are stored in C:\documents\sh3. If you have multiple installs, just pick whichever folder(s) you want to keep.
