After viewing the latest screenshots and then viewing the beginning of this thread, isn't it amazing how far SH3 has come? It almost seems like a whole different game. I can hardly believe it.
To keep this thread on topic, here is a shot I took while doing a patrol in SH3 the other day with GWX. It was part of a hunter/killer group. There were two light cruisers and two escort carriers. I wasn't in a postion to attack the carriers, but I got the cruisers. This one took an eel to the bow. The other was hit in the bow magazine and lit up like the sun. I had fired a two torp salvo at both cruisers and oddly enough one of my stray torps did manage to hit a carrier amidships, but it didn't even slow it down. |

Sure, it's only 2000 pounds, but with that nasty GSW AI you gotta savor the odd moral victory. Only two eels, to boot. Last edited by Aimbot; 02-27-07 at 01:39 AM. |

The definition of 'Ouch!'
Considering the depth charge slithered through my hull (that was something to see btw: watching as it hit the top of the deck then slid inside the hull) before going off at point-blank, skin-contact range I consider myself fortunate: port-side electric and diesel are destroyed, aft batteries destroyed. But realistically that shoulda sunk my butt and not just damaged me. |

Put it down in the log as 'just a slight scratch' :rotfl:

Well kaleuns,I hope it's not off topic,we're talking about the subs here, sharing our fun from the patrols etc.So I've decided to show you what I bought four days ago. Will be doing my best to build it at least as it's shown on the photos below. It's exactly the same model what I've bought, but that guy built it as the functional model,so his VIIC can submerge and surface.I will not go that far (the system for submerging costs app.1400 EUR),but say again,if everything go well,I'll have something similar on my shelf let's say next year.
Fantastic isn't it....?By the way,it's a 1:72 scale model so the hull is 93.4 cm long. |
