Just wondering.

You would have to patch up with Project Messerwetzer after applying any stock patches, which allow for peer-to-peer connections. It is in the downloads section. I haven't used the patch because the dedicated server (which is the only thing stable in stock multiplayer) is useful in my lan parties.

My sh2 is all patched up. I think SH2/DC multiplayer is a genius idea if it worked correctly. Someone needs to revive that multiplayer.

The second is that both games really need another overhaul patch to balance out issues. DC in particular needs patching and modding. Since SH2 vs DC is about the Battle of the Atlantic, it needs playable British destroyers. The only "British" option without mods are the Wickes and Clemson Class destroyers, which became the Town Class under the Royal Navy from the Bases for Destroyers Agreement. Finally is the last issue, which covers all games; finding enough skilled players who have enough free time to play. This kills multiplayer efforts quicker than anything. This is especially true when mod soup issues prevent a stable connection. I would like to see this make a comeback, but to be honest, I do not see it happening. I would much rather see a new sim which combines the two come out with the appropriate architecture for effective multiplayer than try and revive a gaming pair that has run its course. ...of course, I could be wrong, too. |

Wouldn't the Battlestations series kinda fit that bill? I would LOVE to see a sim that combines the 2 platforms successfully. Enigma Rising Tide pulled it off I think. A comeback would be nice, a new ASW-ASuW sim would be great (ie DW), or even maybe just a subsim with lots of sub v. sub. Now that would be fun.
