Also on a side note, when using the Kenngruppen just use the very first 3 letters. so theres no confuesion.

We've been using the Enigma Simulator over at Atlantik! Kampagne for years. We have every year from 1939 to 1945, including the changeover to the Shark machine.

well I thought I'd give us something fun to do over here in this forum, I just wish they'd put this thing into the game, anyone know where we submit ideas for the new SH5? (assuming they're even going back to u-boats.) I still haven't got this thing all the way figured out, the spacing of the letters makes it hard to single out each word, and there are no period, comma, or numbers :P I remember reading that they used one of the letters as period sometimes, but can't remember which one. I thought about spelling out stop as a period but that might get alittle confuesing sometimes but awell. Did the american fleet subs use a machine too? I think there might be one on the same site, they have other encryption machines, a couple from the cold war I know of. I could post code sheets for SH4 using the machine sim they used, if I can find it.

Also, not to clutter up the made thread menue, where should I start a new thread with fun coded messages to post?

The use of Enigma in SubSim gameplay never took off. You're wasting your time.

In Atlantik!, we used it because we have a much smaller player base. The use wasn't mandatory, but we used it to give out some juicy intelligence to allow for additional targets.

We even have a User's Manual plus training exercises. Atlantik! Kampagne

yeah I sort of gathered that. kinda sucks that they never even put something like this in the game to begin with.
